Most dungeons are luckily very straightforward, but in Atal you just can’t do right. There are so many options.
I think at that point I’d think ‘YOU tank it!’ Bleh
Kinda my go too when pugging as well, I’m not gonna comment on how the others are doing…
I’m gonna jump in if someone gets flamed and try and defend them, even if they are terrible… But other than that, i’ll just stay quiet…
I have a WA which pipes up when you’re short on trash count, no one ever gets offended at those.
Sums up the issues pretty well tbf
Likewise. Even if I think a route isn’t optimal, there’s no point in bringing it up during a run. I may make suggestions BEFORE the run if the tank talks about or posts the route, but once the run started I defer to the tank and just adapt to where they go.
But this is why I want to tank again. It’s just easier if you’re the one controlling the flow of the run and can tell the group where we’ll go before the timer starts, so they know what the plan is. The same things you do in a regular group.
Eh.
I’ve done up to +25 as a retri paladin so far. Far easier than healing or tanking. Like ridiculously easy. I know the damage patterns and when I have to press defensives, from healing.
The biggest issue I’ve encountered are tanks that pull too small when everyone have CDs or too big when nobody have CDs, I assume they don’t track CDs when this happens.
I once got kicked from a +18 TotT for replying with “straight ahead” when asked “what’s the route”. lul
I pretty much go full “wont take any bs” mode from pug m+s. If some DPS who only care about their metters starts
me then 1st warning: “Kindly
or I am out of there”. If the said DPS doesnt get the message then I fulfill my promise.
Sure this approach won’t win me any “Fate in Humanity restored” rewards but I learned long long ago that playing nice in M+ pugs is to exhausting and doesn’t accomplish anything.
M+ pugging are like shark infested waters for tanks and healers and the best way to survive in those waters?.. become a shark yourself.
Cross servers didn’t help communities, but the issue started before that with character transfers.
But as I always say with MMOs, people attract people, dead servers won’t do that. So Blizz had to do something.
Apologies if you’ve answered this but…why not run your own keys?
i don’t want to sound mean or disrespectful guys but i think anyone who’s smart enough to open a thread here can think of running their keys or joining groups guilds etc. same advices everytime & the effort to make it a problem happening because of players when it’s actually a system issue that forces people do these things . those advices rarely helps especially those discords (again, not trying to be mean). some people may want to play some contents solo and if the game states that you don’t need a guild then you shouldn’t feel like you need one. the quality of game experience decreases a lot when you pug keys. that is about the m+ system and how things work in this game. that isn’t about any individual and no, not this many people can be bad players. the more you say the same stuff over and over again more of these threads coming . you aren’t making the point you think you do.
I would say it’s hard to give advice, other than what people repeat. As for me personally, they may change the system to whatever they want, however it won’t change my experience so I’ll pass up on any general solutions.
Also unfortunately, I am unable to give advice or empathy for OP directly as well because I am sure me and OP would never meet in same key and even if we did, I would end up choosing someone heavily overgeared / overexperienced for my eight weekly 20s.
I am out of ideas on these M+ life = tough life posts.

. you aren’t making the point you think you do.
And nor are you.
