Thoughts on Dornogal

So this is just my opinion, and I’m interested to see what the opinions are of others. But I find this city hub to be extremely dull and lacking depth and life.

Just looking around, I find that it seems it was poorly put together in terms of placement of buildings for example. At least with Valdrakken, the hub felt alive. The colour scheme just doesn’t look pleasing to the eye.

There is just something missing from this hub, which I hope may change over time within this currently Saga expansion.

Anyone else share the same opinion? If not, what you think about the hub itself?

I think it’s fine. Feels like half of it is not really being used (yet) but stuff is easy to find so thats good. Most importantly though it doesn’t eat fps like Valdrakken did.

Its not my favorite, but it gets the job done. I like it, i find it easier to navigate than Valdrakken, quickly learned where everything is, while in valdrakken i still cant find certain npc’s after 2 years.

Dornogal overall is visually boring, confusing to navigate and find important places on it, and seems a DF area rather than TWW, so overall pretty bad.

Also me Alliance being able to enter Horde hub… disgusting, should be like Dalaran and kick outsiders from other factions.

It’s cool for alliance players, but if I was Horde, I wouldn’t like it. I personally love it, but I can see that if someone mains an Orc Warrior, they might not be as happy with the vibe :man_shrugging:

it’s just dwarfish brutalism! :stuck_out_tongue: I need to get used to it myself, but so far I like it, I did get a bit sentimental when I went back to valdrakken yesterday.

It’s fine as a capital. Purdy to look at. I like it.

I like it. It looks good and everything’s easy to find

I’m pretty neutral about it. It’s definitely not a banger though.

I like that I can find every building instantly and it’s spread out enough that there isn’t massive lag like valdrakken. And I think the simplistic, practical architecture fits dwarves. Also, very easy to traverse.

10/10 from me.

Needs more gems though.

Oh wait, there might have been until the Earthen’s got hungry.

Nevermind!

its a bit too dispersive imho. the good thing it has the forge and the palace very big so normally im able to find the direction using these 2 buildings.

It’s not my favourite city but I do not dislike it. In fact, I like it much more than I thought I would.

It’s less confusing than Valdrakken to navigate too and I can see where they plan to add more things as the expansion progresses.

It’s got too many different areas and only feels busy near the AH.

Much preferred Oribos and Valdrakken.

I love Dornogal, the theme is fantastically realised in my opinion, my main complaint is it feels too big (which makes sense for a city, but not for a hub in a video game). And I guess that lends to your opinion on it lacking life, because even though there are a lot of NPCs, they feel sparse just because of the size of the ‘streets’ and courtyards.

True, that is one of the reasons with it being so vast that things do seem empty, apart from those few areas, where there is activity.

It’s why I hope that in the future things may become more lively.

Everything in Valdrakken felt SUPER packed.
I like Dornogal; it reminds me of early WoW.
Music is dope, plains are nice too.

Not going to lie, I’ve had WoW music turned off since Original WoW, when the login music was annoying me xD

I may turn it back on after 20 years to see what the ingame music is like these days

Quite a few bangers; you’re missing out imo.

I have no idea where anything is - which is bad considering I’m currently leveling my 6th character, but other than that it’s fine
