Thoughts on WoW Token in Wrath Classic

Stop sleeping. There were multiple complains about RMT with 3rd party and partly gdkp laundering gold for it.

Be prepared. The same excuse could be used for era at some point.

Not to the extent where people create 5-10 threads per day about it, like they are doing with the token

Well the bots threads were there and we know the topics are linked.

Honestly, you guys must be going about it the wrong way then. I can look at a DK for 2 seconds in WSG and notice that it is a bot. All you have to do, is to simply generate log data off of a few hundred of these, create a machine learning algorithm and ban them instantly. The technology has been available for years, so no, you aren’t doing enough.

Again, stop sleeping. The bot threads are pretty much linked with the rmt gold buying threads.

Kaivax, this is not the text for gamers, gaming community, especially not for MMO people who want to experience WOTLK(the best expansion ever) again. This is the text for political debate in one of government tv station. What was the idea of opening classic? To earn money and to have happy gamers. WIN-WIN? Apparently there is only one WIN.

Been giving a lot of feedback on RDF and the state servers are in. You don’t listen to feedback. You’re just here for money and excuses. If there was money to be made out of RDF you would’ve. Here’s an idea…

Sell the RDF feature in the shop for only 19,99. People that bought it get to use it and you make more money! You don’t care about the backlash the community would give you, cause all you care about is money anyways!

dont really care about token beeing added. what i found fun in wow wotlk is the raids and dungeons. To be honest the “classic feeling” is allready dead with all these GDKPs ect. so who cares if they add a gold token. next thing now to add is the REAL rdf or atleast fix the “new one” (it still sucks).

RDF doesn’t print money.
Unless they add RDF that you can only queue to by RMT, then yeah, I could see that happening.

Really don’t care whether or not the token is in the game it makes no difference to me.

But let’s just say I am more than sceptical about those banning numbers to be honest. I mean the total population of wrath in terms of real players is what a few hundred thousand at maximum in the NA/EU regions don’t know how many players retail has but it can’t be a very large number.

But 73k bans in two weeks that sure sounds a lot and considering i’ve seen the same bots running around for months on end I gotta say this does have the distinct smell of bs.
If you really banned bots at that rate it surely would not be profitable business in the first place considering how limited their customer base is in an unpopular game like this.

This is of course just my opinion and thus not a statement of fact.

“Time is money, friend!” sums up blizzard’s decision for WoW Token while Wotlk Classic is still alive.

@Serfin: Actually, if you think about things carefully, it is a miserably SMALL number. Of course actual servers are of differing sizes, but I will do some very rough mathematics for you.

Now, there are about 160+ retail and 40+ WotLK:C servers left in US and EU combined. Assuming (and yes, this is just an assumption) cheating is equally popular over all of them and that anti-cheating measures are equally effective on all then that means there are 73 057 / 14 days / 200+ servers bans … which is amounts to roughly… less than 27 bans / server / day.

Since we are in the WotLK:C section, let us consider this: Is about 1000 WotLK:C bans / day enough? I assume you and many other people are going to say: NO! I do not know, if it is actually true, but someone said fairly recently that he thinks his realm has 500+ bots. If we assume that is even close to the truth, Blizzard is able to clean roughly two WotLK:C realms per day… and with there being over 40 of them, we would end up with a cleanup of a specific realm every roughly 23 to 27 days or about every three to four weeks.

If I botched my calculations, I am sorry, but I have been awake far too long. I am going catch a few hours of sleep and check this thread again later today, when I am less tired (hopefully  ). Good night all!

Hey Blizzard, I won’t ever bother reading your wall of BS. Just do what you can to milk players before your game is officially dead and don’t pretend you even care to explain.

Because Blizz people no more PLAY WoW is why. Only imlement crap and rake in money.

In all honesty there are about 30 servers in the eu/us regions combined that can be considered alive the remaining ones are dead as a doornail. And then if we adjust the bans to the population of the server in your calculations a server like gehennas would turn out to be something like 27x1.33=35.91 since about fourth of the servers are dead and then since Gehennas for example is about 7.5% of the whole EU/US population you need to compare that to the average which is 3.3333% so multiply roughly by 2.3 which would bring this to around 83 bans per day.

Now is this a lot, well that is subjective but I seriously doubt were getting that many bans. I don’t know the bot amounts of Gehennas but if we just do an educated guess of lets say 2000 this would mean an average botting account would get 24 days of effective time before getting banned. Like i’ve stated i’ve seen the same bots running around for months on end so this is definitely not happening.

Hey Blizz, why not make the wow token tradeable between chars (wow accounts) of the same Battlenet account? I bought a token on one char, but I want to use on another of my 3 wow accounts.

The introduction of the token hurts the current player base, the people you should be looking after.

A better alternative (if you must make more money) would be to charge new accounts £25 to access the game, this directly hurts the botters and not the current players. Yeah it might put off new players joining, but let’s be honest, if people haven’t joined by now, they won’t be at all.

Or attach new accounts to a valid ID…

There’s so many other options. Selling gold is the easiest and most profitable option though so… whatever. I already quit out of principle but I’m sure you’ll make 100x my sub in a day from the saddos who already buy gold from bots.

just bring the RDF tool , thats it

RDF the next step or quit blizzard
