Because roleplayers are elitist a$sholes. Welcome to Argent Dawn.
For the record, to reaffirm - Most people should respond, at least from my own experience. I sure as heck would as long as you make it obvious you’re in character.
I am assuming you’re not running up to people and saying “inshnualaaaaaaauuh weary traveler”
Probably because if you can’t make the meagre effort of downloading an add-on, you probably aren’t going to make a well thought out character either.
Good point. Do you have any screenshots that detail what exactly is going wrong with your game when you use an add-on? You mentioned a lack of textures or purple and black boxes appearing in game, so I’d imagine that if you were to take a screenshot of this then it would be properly captured.
Honestly it speaks to the level of radioactiveness within the WoW community. Take a game like FF14, or SWTOR or ESO, there is no RP addons there and people manage to rp just fine. No it’s because a great many WoW players are bloated and spoiled with handholding things that take away the -social- aspect of the game.
They think they’re so smart sneering down at others who don’t do exactly as they do when you have literally people thinking spouting /y cuss word is compelling rp.
You’re not the only person who’s had issues managing RP addons on their system before. I had a friend who’s game just chugged when they booted up TRP. The addon has memory issues when certain options are enabled, mostly associated with archiving profiles from what I recall.
They’re kept in client side archive that increasingly takes up more memory space when there isn’t a routine clean out. The issue is you can quite easily forget to alter this option or also accidentally turn on “colours” the plates which lets you see everyone’s poor colour harmony by painting their whole profile and name in electric blue that’s impossible to read and takes an extra 10 seconds to load.
Maybe that’s because those games have the most important aspects of a RP addon built in? It isn’t really a community issue when the addon is this important.
People manage to RP “just fine” because they have no choice in the matter of using an add-on or not. They’re hostages forced to make do with what they have.
Not sure how installing a third party addon and taking the time to set it up while making it appealing and informative for the sake of other people somehow plays into the idea that WoW players are having their hands held.
Yes, we’re all a hive mind which means you think it’s compelling too I guess? Weird statement to make given standards vary so wildly on AD alone.
