Hi guys, I just wanted to ask what you think of the schedule of the new classic servers and the parallel SOD timeline?
I thought the SOD target group was mostly made up of Era people.
Do you think a lot of SOD people will switch over?
I think the fresh should start when SOD ends that way it would be much easier.
As it is now will still have to have the weekly raid in SOD and otherwise play the fresh with everyone from my guild who want to and new people recruited in Classic fresh.
BTW thanks Blizz for no GDKP it will make recruiting 40 people for the epic wipe moments much easier than it was in Classic where pros were too pro and naabs bought gold to get boosted.
The Vanilla experience included fun wipes I remember it from when I was a kid 20 years ago.
I honestly wanted to play classic, because it was the only version of the game I didn´t play while it was current.
But then I had to go to Taiwan for 3 weeks about 2 weeks after release, and by the time I came back the GDKP scene had already started to take off so that by the time I dinged 60 the only remotely time efficient way to get into a raid would have been swiping. And with that, my classic experience ended, because even if the token had been available I wouldn´t have purchased it (IMO Tokens are there to purchase shop items for ingame gold, not the other way around, and transferring gold from retail to classic that way wouldn´t have made much sense, either.), and non-blizzard RMT is an absolute no go because I actually like my account and all the things I´ve collected over the past 17 years.
Maybe this time it will work out like a video game and not a casino where you just have to invest enough money to eventually “win”, I.e toss a thousand bucks into the games to walk out with 200 in your pocket.
But on teh plus side, it also made me realize what an egotistical douchebag I was actually being back in the day for organizing GDKPs myself in OG ICC 25. So I´m not innocent, but at least I´ve seen the light and repented, though I can probably never undo the damage I helped cause. Though back then it was at least limited to the realm… but still, who knows how many of those players transferred to where and took that mindset with them…
