Timewalking - what if?

I support your idea except for the amount required. Should be 5k at most.

Well your theory doesn’t really drink water, because nowadays, you can buy a boost for everything. On my realm, 10/10 M raid, Keystone Master, Gladiator boost, all PVP mounts etc. And it’s not even that pricey. WoW has been a pay 2 win for a long time. It’s how far you want to go and what you want to achieve. I personally didn’t buy boosts for CMs as I really enjoyed them.

What’s your point? If I understand you correctly, you would just bring back everything that was removed? Well that’s another topic, and the OP’s question wasn’t tailored towards this. The OP gave ideas, on how to implement certain items (let’s be real, noone hunts down CMs or crap like this for the actual challenge, people just want rewards - the only exception being the Mage Tower which was really fun).

I personally feel that TW is just a cheap way to bring back certain items, that people grinded hours, days or even months for. The reason why they make it unobtainable after a certain time, that’s another topic.

Precisely.

Specifically mentioning Corrupted Ashbringer by name, and the only way to correctly re-implement that specific item is to bring back all of old Naxxramas in the way it was before its removal.

That’s your personal assumption. I wouldn’t know as to how many people actually did CMs for the challenge. I recall there being plenty of groups running for server best times.

I recon those people are the same people who now push M+ keys as high as they possibly can.

Such as which items? As of right now Timewalking is absolutely useless aside for the vanity rewards such as mounts and perhaps for old reputations.

Whut? My theory?
There is no theory. You said ‘you needed skill’ for MoP CM, but not for Mage Tower.
That is simply wrong. Whether there’s boosts for other stuff isn’t the point.

So if THAT is the basis for your ‘yes to MT returning, but no to CM returning’, then your conclusion is based on a falsehood. That is what I’m trying to say. It’s not a theory. It’s a fact.

Let people have their unique stuff.

Just let it stay unique. Its model is awfully dated anyway, too bad the updated one is Paladin only.

Already exists on the BMAH

I like that idea actually it’s like Illidan’s blades. Just make the mount class restricted it belongs to casters I don’t want rogues and DKs using it.

Again let limited stuff stay as they are. I’m salty I can’t get the havoc DH challenge appearance but that’s how things are.

And instead of making it TW rewards I’m willing to bet one day down the line they’ll be added to the BMAH as gold sinks.

But I agree with this aswell. I share this opinion 100%. I personally hate them when they remove content, but it’s just the way things are.

Yeah but with how the game works, it’s impossible to do so.

No, that’s far from my personal assumption. That’s a fact. CMs were being notorious for completed once, until you got your sets, and never touched again, since they didn’t offer anything else than those 3 achievment rewards (title, mount, sets / weapons). It’s the same now with Twisting Corridors. The minmaxers, that you call plenty of groups running for server best times, were maybe 1% of the playerbase.

I already pointed out those items in the 1st answer, but here we go again. These are the most ‘hardcore’.

  • Gates of Ahn’ Qiraj mount
  • Corrupted Ashbringer
  • MOP CM gear & mount
  • WOD CM weapons & mount

I was even mad for them bringing back Swift Zulian Tiger, Swift Razzashi raptor and the Plagued proto drake on the BMAH. Eespecially now after seeing reports of people getting them from containers for 90k gold, or buying them for less than a mil on low pop realms, while us on high pop realms, can’t even bid on them since the thing gets shut down within miliseconds of it being posted.

I’m gonna ask again, what’s your point? Leave the boosting aside, meaning let’s talk on us players actually putting time and effort into it.

MOP & WOD CMs were the same throughout the expansion. It was all scaled to the exact same figure of ilvl, making it actually matter on how you played, which classes you brought etc. Ofcourse towards the ends of both expansions, where the OP HFC or SOO trinkets were implemented, it got a tad easier, but it was still a challenge. The gear equation was removed, meaning the skill was the only relevant thing to get this done.

Mage Tower on the other hand, got trivial when Antorus released. MT wasn’t skill based, but gear based. Incase you forgot, Legion brought the highest gear inflation in the game so far, and gearing was insanely easy in Legion. If you didn’t have 950ish ilvl by the expansions end, you weren’t even playing it.

Now once again let me explain it for you, I main a Demon hunter, while also being really good with fire mage, fury warrior and blood DK. Each of the mage towers took roguhly 50-80 attempts since I had 895 - 905 ish ilvl when attempting them. It was very tightly tuned, and it required immense skill to do.

Fast forward a few months later, when I leveled up my hunter, priest, shaman etc. I got all the MT appearances on them, mostly even one shot. Why? Because half of the mechanics were roflstomped with insane gear stats. When I was doing Agatha on my mage, I had like 3 mil hp and she had 90 mil, and my opening burst was maybe 1M dps. When I went there on my feral druid, she still had 90 mil hp, while I had almost 7 mil, and my opening burst was around 3.5mil. So I was playing towards the same boss, while being 3 times stronger. Where’s the challenge in that?

You. Could. Buy. A. Boost.
No skill involved at all. THAT is my point.

You couldn’t get a boost for MT. You had to do that yourself and that still required some skill, even with high ilvl (you saying it was ‘insanely easy’ is pure hyperbole).

Where’s the challenge in getting a boost for a CM?

You. Can. Buy. A. Boost. For. Everything. 10/10 M, KSM, gladiator. It’s been Pay2Win for almost 10 years now. Which point don’t you understand?

Oh boy how wrong you are. Ofcourse you could buy a boost for MT. Have you ever heard of Blazingboost? Please visit that site before coming back with such nonsense. It’s obviously against the TOS, but I personally know people buying boosts like that. Even reputation grinds, BMAH camping, Lucid Nightmare boosts etc
Everything that can’t be done in the group, they can boost you. They access your account with software that doesn’t even track any IPs, meaning it’s impossible to get caught. Buy one yourself, and then come back.

And no. Let’s face it. If you couldn’t complete any of the Mage Tower challenges in the last few months of Legion, or if you were 940 + ilvl, you sucked. Period end of story. If people played Legion and didn’t get it, it’s 100% their own fault for being bad. I’m sorry for you if you belong in this bracket. The answer is just git gud.

WE WERE NOT TALKING ABOUT >>>EVERYTHING<<<.
WE WERE TALKING ABOUT CM AND MT. Jesus H Christ.

No. I don’t break the TOS.
And I don’t buy boosts, period.
Anyway
My point stands. They can both be brought back, because neither actually meant a damn thing.

How very elitist of you (not to mention narrowminded).

And my answer to that horrible overused sentence is: Get a life and we’re done talking.

I think original forms should stay only for those who did it when it was current but reward could be replicas or something like that then original would still have more value. And it could be tied for Time walk system

I have never been against that. They can give recolor and stuff like that, or even the same form as long as there is something visual who disting both of them and not a simple buff description.

Riot did something like that with championship riven, the old skin got a border and a crown so people know which is the real and the replica.

I just think it is trash if only a buff description will make people know what is original and replica.

Are you actually iliterate? Both could be bought, that’s what I’m saying for the 8th time.

Neither do I, and neither did I buy a boost for any of these 2. My sanity is just capable enough of admitting that WOD and MOP CMs are a different story than the MT thing. Also for the CM skins, you had to actually do all the dungeons. For MT, it’s just 1 7-10 min encounter. Hardly comparable.

You can pretend it’s elitist and narrowminded all you want, but the fact is, that the people who couldn’t complete it with 940 ilvl at that point, generally suck. Go watch videos of streamers, guides etc. Every single video will mention, that gear trivialized it to the point, where it wasn’t even a challenge anymore. I don’t know what kind of herbs have you been smoking, since your reality is clearly disorinted abit.

You don’t know nothing about me and my life so your statement makes as much sense as your previous comments. I on the other hand, know that you must have sucked at the game if you couldn’t complete the MT challenges in Legion, and now want them back. So my statements stands, git gud kid.

You should not be able do stuff what veteran players do when you are just started. When your new player you just have to work your skills or level up and there is nothing wrong that some items or rewards are hard optain and thats how its supposed to be. You can work your skills and try do that harder level where that other player play. I play priest because i watched jazhrun from paragon and wanted play same level well never happened but i found my limits for how i play healer and priest. I dont feel that i should get same rewards what jazhrun got

This thread in a nuttshell:

Open-minded, kind and social people agree that having dicontinued things be made available again is a good thing. Sharing is good.

Close-minded elitists are against bringing back discontinued things because their fragile egos can’t handle them not ‘feeling special’ anymore.

Fixed for you :smiley_cat:

Yeh thats pretty much what it comes down to.

Nonono. At least that’s not MY opinion; I want ‘the opportunity to EARN them’ back.
I’m not asking for a free hand-out.

Get discontinued stuff re-implemented. I thought that was pretty clear.

Mmmmh. Wrong on both accounts.

My mentality towards GAMING is way different than my mentality towards REAL LIFE.
For OBVIOUS reasons.

So no, that’s not how I would react.

It’s a GAME. A GAAAAAME.

Aaaand there we have it. Reported. And done.
Bye.

I have the skin its just a game why do people say " prestige or unique"

I would like it but it looks old and dated and not everyone would use it .

Because people like to feel special for stuff they have done, that includes me.
Why would anyone get the mount from killing the last boss on HC where they didn’t do it when it was challenging? Same for MOP set and MT.

Call me selfish, ellitist, anything you want, like the other people, but that is my opinion.

What makes me feel special is making a person’s day irl or being nice to somebody . A pixel i earnt 4 years ago its very low on my list of feeling special and nice and as the old saying goes you can not take them with you .
I have all 36 MT specs
I have WoD cm gear
I have 3 x CM MoP sets

I will not call you any of those but i will say it is just a game and there are bigger issues irl .
