I dont get it, the rework is only ou for a week and allready nerfs, even if its small .
Why not wait a few weeks to see the real outcome of these buffs to casuals like me instead of focussing on the few top players wich run 25+
Im glad to run an 18+ wich now is a little easier with these buffs and i get nerfed allready.
I think thats stupid but hey, just my 2 cents.
Id brace urself for weekly nerfs, i dont think it was intended for mage to be S+
With Aug becoming mandatory in groups, stapling down the orher 2 spots to Shadow and mage basically means 0 group variation.
So yeah, theyre gonna nerf outliers to try and prevent that. M
Well i just enjoy it while it lasts then
i wonder how much blessing of summer , Aug evoker , pi has to do with it ^^
with pi, aug and blessing there r 3 more variables now
Sure, but this is effecting all classes top logs. So its still comparable realistically.
Those nerfs are not so tiny and possibly misplaced with how much Aug Evoker and PI contributes to it. At least it’s not the 12.5% to ST that fire got in SL season 1, because devs saw mages flamestriking in MDI.
Yes but this is the case for every class in the game.
So if theres still a dps disparity between say a DK and a Mage its going to result in balancing as both these classes in logs are buffed by the same thing.
We arent rhe only class thats being affected by aug. Every class is, so everyones dps has been lifted.
Well BoS is already contributed to the paladin and has been for a while at this point, and fire has been performing incredibly in keys without priests and evokers as well.
I don’t think this is a “Spec only gets nerfed cuz of externals issue” it is outright too strong and the aug just increase that gap even further because it’s a fixed % increase to what’s already there.
Should be fine, hopefully they don’t start overnerfing stuff.
People have a tendency of overreacting, and this goes double with augmentation evoker in the game.
I honestly don’t really think mage needed a nerf right now, i would have waited it out to make sure you see the whole picture.
It’s not the same for every class. Mage is freshly reworked and everybody that rerolled away from mage during season 1 (maany people) dug it out again and started blasting. Every other grp going in LFG was specifically looking for Mage+DH+Aug+Shadow which is the complete god comp clocking in logs all over the place. If you replaced Mage and DH with Brewmaster and whatever melee it would be them farming logs. There are rets and warriors scattered across logs doing 250k as well, which is all coming from Aug, they are just not the patch highlight that everybody is checking out.
The 5% + Sun King’s nerf will be felt severely in raid. And capping Flamestrike while also nerfing it’s damage might be overkill as well, with Spiteful damage skewing the numbers. Ion promised that they would stop making nerfs that remove specs at the top from the top. But 5-7% in Mythic raid will put mage well behind DK and Lock.
Because the gap between mage and other classes is larger. Mages do more damage which is why players arent asking for other classes lol.
The pros have been testing all comps. Mage is the wanted one because it simply does.more dmg then other classes in the same comp lol
What pros? Just because they are streaming it does not make their choice indicative of something. Just like the average player they will pay attention to the patch highlight. With Warlock, Ret and Shadow reworks it was the same story, every dude Qing up was the playing the freshly reworked spec, except they didn’t have Augs lifting their numbers to the stratosphere.
The fact they’re timing 29s kinda does though. Discounting underrot (Which for all intents and purposes isn’t really a key to these people) there’s only one key without a fire or frost mage in the top 60. It was apparent to anyone with any understanding of the state of M+ prior to 10.1.5 what the best comp in the game would be the moment the patch dropped.
It wasnt only streamers who sat on PTR. World first players farm it on tbere as practice also.
I dunno, if a 404 fire mage pulls upwards towards 90-100k dps overall, something is very wrong.
Ignite damage is bugged on meters it isnt quite that bad in real logs.
But yes, mage is overpowered.
Problems will really occur now however and i think blizzards gonna have to do something.
Currently basically your m+ comp is
Tank
Healer.
Augmentation evoker.
Shadow priest
X only class spot thats flexible.
Which introduces a major issue, beyond mages current issues, even if u knock mage off the pedistal, they will take whatevers just behind mage.
Theres only 1 flexible spot now in a m+ group. And thats gonna be problematic regardless.
It’s probably still mage.
As a start they should get rid of / retune every single example of ‘Whole group gets dispellable dot’ so mass dispel isn’t quite so universally necessary.
No i dont agree! no nerfs are needed if you ask me, if you want to nerf something start with BM hunters and Boomkins, PvP wise.
Likely will be, but id also expect more nerfs the following week after this reset.
I think we will prolly see 3 nerfs over the course of upcoming weeks.
In pve we most defintly do
