any usefull tips would be welcome
I’ve just rolled holy so my experience is minimal at best but the one thing I learned the past few days is to utilise your cooldowns. Don’t save them for the “oh s##t” moments. Use them before that and you won’t have those moments.
Could you explain it more detailed?
Are you just in the need of tips for leveling or at max. level or…?

As holy paladin you kinda need to know the fights a bit so you know when the cooldowns will be useful.
It’s not as difficult to master it as it was some time ago. Just don’t be scared to pop a cool down now and then, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
Basically holy shock on cool down, judgement on cool down after you get the talent that puts the healing debuff on the target and that’s kinda it.

As Hexelyion said, holy shock on cd, Judgement on cd if you are using Judgement of Light talent. Study fights and see when is the best time to pop up aura mastery and blessing of sacrifice. Use beacon of light and beacon of faith on tank and off tank. Try not to tunnel your healing on tanks, but rather avoid it unless you have no choice, your beacons should do the job. If properly used, our mastery (although considered garbage by many paladins, as other healing classed have their mastery focused on increased healing) can shine. Since holy paladin is a melee healer, position yourself to always have your team mates close for light of dawn to reach full potential, it should be cast on cd as well. If you prefer using addons, download vuhdo and weakauras, they can provide bunch of useful information and help you out when mastering holy paladin. As I said, positioning is the key to successful healing when it comes to paladins. Well, you can swap the “try no to” to “Don’t”.
Directly healing your beaconed target is pretty senseless, unless it’s an absolute emergency.
Time your cooldowns, but use them. I’ve had fights where I saved them for emergencies, but they never really came ^^. Check for incoming damaging phases and go for it.

tip for fist time holy ? ? … play disco or mistweaver … unkillable, OP heals, absorbs etc.

but actually holy paladins are more about cds than actual healing.
ever when I play my holy I hate it due to the fact that no crit = no heal
holy shock mechanic is dumb and thats why I gave up on playing pala

Leaving the mechanic identical from legion but reduce crit by half wasn’t their best choice, yeah.
And the missing big heal cd and you have to stay in meleecamp and trolltrinket (!) from opulence and…
Pal is far from being unplayable - but there’s always one at the bottom of the list.

I totally agree.
In M+ the pal is a beast.
I’ve made my first 1k rio this season on my rsham but got bored of doing the same dungeons over and over.
So I’m at the moment not that much interested in doing more than req. for weekly chest.

When it is about raiding, Hpala is great too. It is just that reduce incoming damage by devotion aura and mastery aura is not in the meters. But I am sure your raid will love your raidwide defensive.

Did you know that Demon hunters Darkness show up on healing meters and yet somehow people can not get devotion aura to show up.

i feel holy pala is good for m+ if the people know what they are doing (like disc priest), but if you take more avoidable dmg when you beacon is on cd then you can start to crap your pants, especially fun on grievous weeks.
beacon up + shock crit = cool everyone full hp
beacon up + no crit = cool feel like no healz
beacon cd + aoe dmg = might as well afk till beacon comes back up as flash heal doesn’t do anything?
feels like this for me in a nut shell
pala has good damage avoiding cds and if you have good team mates along side yourself, it makes pala top tier in high mythics but playing pala in pug mythics it feels garbage
my experience with pug palas in +10s is similar, mostly they don’t have the hps to keep up with the groups failz
