I found that TD aggro thing hilarious its own way. Maliciously hilarious. Especially on Ilgynoth just before it did the tank cone on that no-dispel tactic. I am evil, I know. I had to eventually on pulls just turn my back, or engage boss later as for some reason my TD was guaranteed to proc before other tank.
It added a bit of playful fun for me. And I like to see when tanks dps has an impact to boss fight. Like with TD I can safely save CD from basher tentacles while without TD dps might be lower and the bashing ability might occur. Although I wouldn’t mind them raising tank dps output overall to compensate.
Also 12/12 here and I died last night on Wrathion too! As awesome I was with that 5ish dot, when knocked off (must dps boss!) from healers range gets you dead swiftly
I’ve found it hilarious during reclear bosses that provided no issue whatsoever. I’ve found it quite annoying during (re)progress bosses. I’m also not one who likes to hold back regarding DPS, I’ve always played both DPS and tank and if there’s not at least one dps below me in damage, I get sad.
That’s a thing I wholeheartedly agree with! I loved the vengeance mechanic in Cata and MoP. It should not have gone overboard the way it did, with tanks topping dps meters every fight, but I’ve never understood what’s wrong with tanks dealing damage and why players spoke out against it so much. Resolve just wasn’t good enough and even that isn’t a thing anymore.
Honestly, I feel like both negative as well as positive effects happen more often during the Wrathion fight, I don’t know what it is, but I’ve had Wrathion fights where I’ve dealt more dps than Hivemind / Vexiona fights on the same day with the same gear, simply because corruptions were proccing so much.
It’s obviously just random, but why is it always Wrathion?
I learned pretty fast to dislike blood death knights with twilight devastation when we were progressing on Il’gynoth. I got the spot at the wall in line where the off-tank was waiting for the swap.
Least to say that I was the only raid DPS in the group who occasionally had a tank debuff on them. Luckily enough Blazing Barrier was burly enough to make me survive the shot, and I did not get two beams after another, ever. Still, it made my heart stop the first time it happened for sure.
Because thunderforging was negligible. By definition it did not work simply because difference was nearly non-existant.
And also you are comparing one broken trinket with 60 ilvl difference in expansion that had uncapped and more frequent titanforging. Newsflash:
It was a problem with design of that one damn trinket and BfA nerfed titanforging severely.
I sorted the problem by … well my monk always started 2nd and had a TD problem, so I had a master plan and ta-taaaaaa. Blood dk can solo tank the fight! No more TD aggro problem. They still planted me a off-tank because raid leader didn’t trust the situation, so he went to tank to look pretty and solo kicked organ while I picked the add back in mid so the charges would be shorter and people were able to dps it.
Modern problems required modern solutions.
Good question. I went actually look at the logs of my ladies. Skimmed trough several of their logs and had to shrug it off. Is as random as it gets. But loved how their %ge in ranking depends exactly on how many Tds proced or did not proc! SKILL!
No it didnt. Its the same with corruptions. If you buy a boost with loot then every booster is forced to trade you their loot and not looting the chest is not allowed regardless of corruption or TF in that regard and will cause you to get striked immediately (and this can be tracked)
You were also required to be able to trade TF gear. There were several purchase brackets whether you want highforged TF or can deal with it that a hardforged TF lootpiece cant be traded.
The only difference was during the very beginning of this tier where BiS corruptions were excluded for progress reasons but had to be compensated. Another option is (no longer a thing tho) that if you dont want to trade the item that you can ask the buyer if hes happy with another free run or if the booster can buy the item from the buyer. If the buyer says no then you have to trade the item regardless if you want or not (or deal with the strike, cut removal, punishment fee and possible removal from the community (which will cause the other communities to be informed)
Well, we had a paladin and a DK tank. As I said it normally wasn’t a problem simply because I was playing mage, so I had double layer of defensives to rely on (Cauterize and Blazing Barrier.) It did make me develope the uncanny ability of making sarcastic comments whenever this occur however.
Normally on my monk I did not have aggro problems against our BDK on a single target, and for the times when that occur it wasn’t an issue because I am aware enough to notice that I am not the tank getting pulverised by the boss.
I didnt really realize how bad it was at first. There was ofc the disappointment every time loot drops and its not TF. Meh i could have got a better one. Still remember doing dailies for months to RNG a TF arcano crystal…
Then my guildies getting random max ilvl pieces. Even if you are happy for them you will still be disappointed you didnt get TF from your weekly. It is human nature.
Oh ye i took an alt to heroic this week and now have a better trinket than my main.
I only really realized how much i like no TF when we got this patch. Ofc corruption took my mind off it as that frustration was on another level.
Now however i could kind of achieve best gear and just do content for fun. I only got everything i needed recently, it still took me months to gear not like i had nothing to do.
I previously only played heroic as i was on a dead server and only in nyalotha did i raid mythic. Thinking back TF was more annoyance than fun to have. Nothing is good enough until it gets a socket at leech and TF to max. I just want to play the game for fun not for an impossible lottery.
I understand some people’s frustration who played more casually but its either exists or doesnt exist. It has nothing to do with what one person wants. Its what majority wants or those want who actually do hard content. As harsh as that sound you dont need mythic ilvl TF to do your world quests. If you play casually you obviously play for some other reason and not gear progression or you would be doing m+ and raid too.
My monk was paired most times 10/12 of progress against DH, and no matter what Dh did, my TD just swept floor with his threat and mob was mine. My DK oddly never had the problem despite her Tds hit harder. So there was probably something about monk threat vs DH threat.
But when DH quit and paladin stepped in. No matter monk or DK. My TD - and mob was mine.
People don’t need to buy boosts period, yet they do, regardless if TF exists or not. Boosting thrived in legion, to the point that blizzard had to ban advertising in LFG because it became unusable. Also TF existed for the most of BFA yet boosting communities only got bigger.
Also the difference being nearly non existant is what made it good. Yeah sure, you can still get upgrades even after being equipped from the max difficulty, but the upgrade won’t make the difference between killing a boss or not.
People are still fighting Azshara for that 455 socket font of power. Even when the next expac is coming in a bit over a month.
BFA added a maximum itemlevel. It was better than legion titanforging, I’ll agree. It’s still miserable to have itemdrop, itemdrop+ and itemdrop++, because it devalues itemdrop and itemdrop+ to even have the possibility of itemdrop++.
Winning 3€ with a scratch ticket is fine, but you probably won’t be too happy about it, because it’s not the grand prize of 10.000€
If you create a system that devalues the itemdrops, it’ll make players feel miserable. Back in wotlk, when I got my deathbringers will, I was stoked!
I would’ve been not even half as stoked as I was back then, if I got a regular deathbringers will, while the possibility of deathbringers willy and deathbringers willyer with a red socket existed.
The number one DK on Shadhar has 20 TD hits in 3:30min. During our last N’zoth kill, a 11:18min fight, with several mobs more than just one, I had 28.
I don’t know but… For me, for example, adding more corruption doesn’t add THAT much dps. So… I don’t see the point of increasing inconvenience for few dps
tabs My dks best log on that boss is 7 procs … Monks ? 9 And Nzoth you say. I raise it to 21 from last log! Best 11.18 spent !
snorts
Well we can conclude that as much fun both high TF procs were or how many TD procs there were - in long run neither of systems are fair towards players.
That may have been because paladin burst falls off really fast, especially if one does not use Seraphim, which brings its own issues along, including the 4 second setup to even start your burst. Overall I rarely had aggro holding issues on my paladin, but I never tanked Ny’alotha either with him.
I may not have had a problem on my monk because I was using garbage trinkets (I barely raided Ny’alotha on my monk) so I was using Cyclotronic Blast still. Went well with the generally higher amount of crit monks tend to have.
Did something happen when item thunderforged? Yes. Did it do what it was suppose to? No. So it really didn’t work.
Lol no. Having no real benefit from getting such item made it unnecessary. That is why blizzard upgraded it.
And yet this is a problem with class design and badly designed trinket. Nothing to do with TF in general. As even base version of this trink is better than currently available ones.
I merely stated that your statement was wrong because I know how boosts are being operated unlike you. It’s that simple.
Won’t happen since boosting in this game is as old as vanilla. Boosting for money however is and was always bannable.
People don’t need to buy boosts in general regardless of TF or not. People will still purchase them regardless. Even if it’s only for a mount boss (hello archimonde)
