Hard to find a definitive answer so kind of hoping a blue could step in here a second.

I don’t use it personally but I do like the idea of having the ability to stare at animations other than human male.

How seriously does Blizzard take the use of it?

I understand it’s tos to edit game files but were bans given out only to those abusing it or do they still ban those who ONLY change their character model for their own viewpoint?

By “abusing” I mean using it to change world objects in order to cheat.

It’s against the rules, they catch you for it, they ban you for it. Simple.

What sparked my interest is that on a certain YouTube channel dedicated to wow classic video mashups, there is a rising streamer who uses it… There are also accounts of a certain top 3 raiding guild using it during blizzard ran irl events (or at least a few members I mean)

You are altering the game files, that is strictly against the rules. No ifs or buts. It’s clear cut against the rules.
