Top 5 Worst Types of People to RP with?

My good man Invader redpilling the ignorant forum mains once again. Have to give him an applaud.

One of the worst:

The people who spend hours RPing with you, making compelling stories, sharing experiences and having a grand old time but lose all interest in interacting the second they learn that you’d rather not join their guild/go for a snuggle in the bushes.

Pests!

It’s worth bearing in mind that Night Elves will undoubtedly perceive time far differently than we do. 10,000 years is an almost incomprehensible amount of time for us, whereas it’s only a lifetime for their oldest.

As for Illidan, there’s a very strong case that he was driven insane during that time. He’s not exactly known for his stable personality and calm, rational judgement.

DID YOU JUST ASSUME MY GENDER!?

To be fair, I find it silly that if you are a guy in Orgrimmar in the company of your own people you do not speak in your mother tongue. It would be like me being in London with friends from my town and for some reason we all speak english.

If someone asks us to speak orcish IC, then that is fine. But why speak it if no one outside your own race is in your company?

As I said, insane in the sense that he would be hallucinating and non-verbal. Solitary confinement drives minds to madness in all social animals.

Illidan was clearly disturbed but he was capable of making plans and tactics - which requires rational thought.

I think Blizzard’s writers are allergic to actual military tactics, or even basic reality when it comes to writing a war. The War of Thorns and Battle of Lordaeron are absolutely ridiculous from that perspective, and I could go on for pages about why…

10,000 years is a long time, sometimes.

Other times, the greatest technological innnovation in the span of 30,000 years is that we go from bashing one stone against another to create a roughly shaped surface… to bashing two stones against each other to make a slightly sharper surface! Science! Progress! The future of Hunter-Gathering! THE POINTY BIT!

He’s also an immortal, magical elf and real world rules don’t apply to him.

thank you for schooling these cis-normative alliance players :+1:

Not in every sense, but if they don’t apply in any sense then we can’t empathise.

Again, this is a case of the writers not knowing A) how torturous solitary confinement actually is and B) just how long 10,000 years actually is.

brb forcing every blizzard writer to undergo 10000 years of solitary confinement.

I’ve forgotten what the original thing was about, which is a good sign to stop.

Writers not understanding the passage of time and the changes that result is pretty common, especially in game writing (fallout 4 is another good example, if you look into it). I can get invested in a story without bothering with the details but it is important to mention.

To be fair, 10k years does sound cooler than 100 years. It’s a fantasy world with alien races, so I’m fine with not being able to rationally explain everything.

A lot of Blizzard writing works off Rule of Cool which is valid and I’m all for it.

Just unfortunate that sometimes they write things which sound cool but fall apart if you know something the writers did not.

  1. People who are rude OOC.
  2. People who always want to win.
  3. People who inflates their ego with their charcters IC success.
  4. People who invade other people’s DM’ed events without poking beforehand and think they are right to do so, because apperently you have to approachable 101% of the time.
  5. Child- and Pack RPers. Do not do it please.

Yeah I get you. There are certain claims that people make which are just big breaks of lore, and it’s definitely alright to politely correct them when they make them. But when something is very minor, insignificant or harmless, it’s best not to intrude on their fun. It’s even worse when people start correcting things which aren’t even the lore, but just server lore that people have just taken as fact.

I was ready to be triggered, because I thought it said ‘‘politically correct’’.

Carry on.
