Of course, but there’s no way to completely remove the subconscious bias towards making a favourable decision for your character. Trust me, I’ve cocked up enough times with characters to try not to let it get to that degree

Saying it is impossible is strictly untrue though, no? Difficult, yes, but in the same way that you can conciously angle yourself to have a -worse- outcome, surely you can also do so to make sure you don’t have a positive outcome where you don’t need to.
