You don’t even lose rating to 1.4, unless you keep changing partners and play with people who are lower rating than you.
For example, RBGs are easiest way to 1800, as if you pick right groups, ones with same mmr or higher, you don’t even lose rating to 1650-1700, so 1600 is veeeery easy to get.
You can see I got it from playing a handful of RBGs, and I was doing fully yolo rbgs groups with no voice, you join something with voice, you can get 1800.

I don’t know anything about “towellie guy said in video that being boosted”. This is fundamentally wrong when someone promote pay 2 win attitude. While I could accept streamers get boosts from other players by sending him.her donations in golds for their work, accepting and promoting paying irl money just to progress is fundamentally wrong to the core. While playing with 220-226 ilvl partner. I honestly doubt he’d ever get that high if his partner was also ~200 ilvl.
I am fortunately still allowed my own opinion but obviously I do like playing WoW or I’d be a pretty useless MVP.

Yes, and if his partner had the same gear he has, they’d never beat the insanely geared players at higher rating. It’s extremely difficult to do, even for players of his caliber.

When I look for a partner in LFG, I will 99% of the time get in a group with a 205ilvl just like me 
While at the same time I keep running in groups with 37k hp, 40k hp, pathetic, lazy, dumb system.
There should be logical filters:
if 1 team member has ilvl 220, then the opposite team should have at least 1 member of ilvl 220.
if 1 team member has already been 2100, then it should always match with a team of the highest’s actual MMR.
And combinations of those. You can’t put 1x 220 ilvl + 170ilvl in a team vs 2x 170ilvl, that is just a SLOTS lottery loss from start.
Again, this is just like how heroic dungeons or LFR works. You can’t queue for them without the required ilvl. They should put a minimul ilvl requirement to the Rated PvP modes OR make the damn matchmaking system more balanced, more logical, more enjoyable.
And put the boosters, and full high end gear players in a place higher or match them with their own ilvl mmr omologues.
