Toxic group of kids!

This has been my experience with PvP events on AD, but from what I heard those gankers made RP impossible on DB, so I must assume they were so many that you couldn’t enjoy your RP or they were so good that roleplayers couldn’t fend them off (or they just equipped the IC gear). In the end, I don’t care about the micro-transactions between RPers and gankers on DB, I care if this is a dynamic that can or cannot manifest on AD, and it can’t.

Must be a sad life to exist only to goad reaction from others. I’d even go so far as to wager that the majority of RPers would agree that we (AD RP community) do not NEED OOCers here, nor do we want them here, if they’ve already decided they have no intention of RPing.

Tbh MMOs where the male characters get to be in jojos style leather underwear don’t seem to get much flak for their female characters having similar options.

Why cant it manifest on AD?

I don’t really like that word. Since it’s usually used in a very bad context from male to female chars when they wear anything more showing.

Male char showing chest: is fine.

Female char showing chest: “SLUTMOG!!!”

Is dumb.

Anyways.

My theory, don’t murder me for it, is more that there’s a lot of people with not much confidence IRL on AD. So they choose a race that is pretty and all. Again, not everyone does that for sure, but when you carefully read some peoples TRP it becomes a bit apparent that they are a self insert, playing a pretty race. It’s a bit sad but I get why. That is, atleast in my experience, certainly a part of why people choose a certain race.

And then another friend of mine just chooses a tauren “because they are chill”. Wish realmpop was still up so I could keep track of stuff like race / gender / class popularity.

Because we don’t have a permanent pvp mode, meaning that creating a guild whose purpose is “hunting” role-players out in the world will just find them blueshielded most of the time, thus being unable to attack them. And if they harass them in-game, they just get reported for it.

Sure, it’s something that might happen in PvP events but as these events aren’t the norm, it doesn’t promote griefing on an active basis. Besides, the few griefers that ever came to these events were, IMO, easily dispatched (and half of the times they were invited by role-players themselves to grief the other faction, so…).

OP must be moving differently, level 22 bigman out here smashing the end-game content.

Except they’ll just resort to using big mammoths and growth pots instead of popping all their CDs on little timmy and his rp guild. It’s much the same that goes on. Griefing is GRIEFING.

The dynamic isn’t as rewarding as is wPvP. It’s unlikely you’ll see entire communities organize to sit on players’ head for a while. Furthermore there is an important difference

Except that if it’s standing on a mammoth, you can report it to Blizzard as harassment. If it is pvp ganking, you cannot.

Uhm. Yes you can? You CAN report PVP ganking if it’s griefing your roleplay. Idk if you know this… But, it’s kinda top secret… On RP realms, right? Y-you’re not allowed to f… with RPers in any way… B-but it’s top secret, bro…

Well, I’m not sure if this is true? I thought if you have the flag on, you’re fair game.

Good luck taking it off in Redridge Mountains on an RP-PvP server. That dosent matter though, all RP realms are under a special code of conduct that says you are not allowed to express disruptive behavior toward roleplayers. And… Guess what… ROLEPLAYERS on RPPVP-REALMS… are still… roleplayers.

okay so the main takeaway from the last 1000 posts is that

ad is not a rp realm because the rp tag in server listing is meaningless

got it, thanks human mage zaphius

Former ganking man Bouncybum sends his regards.

First punishment forcefully name changed.
Second punishment muted for 24 hours.
Stopped griefing roleplayers in SW entirely because Blizzard probably threatened to use heavier punishment.

Yes, it is punishable. Then again, who in their right mind walks into SW to gank roleplayers and not expect anything to happen to them?

Its a grey area but you can be sanctioned for ganking people in a way that disrupts other player’s play to the point it constitutes harassment. This is especially true if you’re doing it in a way the player you’re doing it to has no gameplay solution to.

I’m just shocked that this thread is still alive after all that happened yesterday if I’m being honest.

Yeah that must have been for pvping, I see nothing wrong with the name itself.

Just local contrarian dragon being a 1-man army against “teh evul RPers”

Bruh. Bouncybum is not an RP friendly name. And guess what… on RP realms… it’s part of the tos to have an rp name…
