Toxic group of kids!

No, that is 100% a fact. You could blueshield in cities on PVP realms

IDK why you are quibbling because this isn’t even an opinion but a well-documented game mechanic

This is literally irrelevant when the question is “could you blueshield and prevent all PVP with your character in a city hub ala. Stormwind/Orgrimmar” because the answer is just “yes”

I know right?!

AD back in the day (when I came for a visit in TBC) had a thing where forsaken and trolls didn’t get along and some forsaken tried to kick me out of the inn in Brill when I was trying to log out to go bed.

Bro that’s not even a thing that lasted beyond the first few months on the Classic servers lmao it goes to show you just actually never played there and have zero clue what it was like

Also all starting areas didn’t force your PvP on, so you were safe in Durotar, Teldrassil etc.

Yes you could blueshield in the city - it doesn’t mean there were no tensions/shenanigans that were brought from PvP conflicts around the world.

Was cool for those few months.

It lasted a bit longer on actual vanilla servers back in the day to my recollection as a consequence of players no knowing how anything worked and the messing about in the overworld section of the game lasting longer.

The differences dont exist. The exact same will happen if I toggle PVP right now and take a wander in Redridge Mountains.

The whole Defias-RP realm dying is just a pure failure of Blizzard not enforcing roleplay rules. That OOCers can run rampant there without any consequences is just a symptom, not the root of the problem. I am also quite surprised that people coming from that realm aren’t even more hostile to OOCers as in mass flagging every OOCer without mercy ingame. There have been games where toxicity entirely ruined everything. And only now the company wakes up and does something about it since they realise it comes crashing down on their income. But too late. Hand a man a mask and you will see his true face.

Weird how Blizzard does something against toxicity in OverWatch but WoW is left in the dust. Going as far to ban popular Twitch streamers for “being toxic” but Asmongold or Kakio and his goons can just run amok. Guess they really don’t care about WoW anymore much.

Which brings me to: Ipray every day that Activision doesn’t pull the plug one day because of “costs” and just mashes all realms together to some mega-realm. That would probably not only kill roleplay, but the servers itself as well.

Isn’t that the same though on AD? I’ve always had that question. How come some race gender + classes are heavily represented in RP, while others just don’t exist? Is it just appeal? I’ve seen countless orc shamans or goblin rogues. While a worgen priest or warlock is as rare as it can get. I get some race + class combination have zero lore like tauren priest, but still. Female night elves are also on every corner while male night elves are super rare. Do most people just think they are that unappealing?

Worgen Warlock is far more common that you might think. And it’s because, the tiddy factor. The sexier a race looks in mageweave, the more likely it is to be picked.

Except that you can remove your PvP aura if you get ganked.

Imagine role-playing in Redridge and all of a sudden finding yourself stormed by a group of gankers. If you’re on AD all you have to do is to remove your tag. While if you’re on another server, you have to leave the area and abandon the event, or fight back and abandon the event.

That is a huge difference.

Not really what i was on about. There was a period where all the gnomes on a server (I want to say Sporeggar but I might be misremembering, I server hopped a lot) where all the gnomes who RPed did so with a phonetic “scouse” accent.

All you gotta do is wave the finger at them, pop your polymorph and hearthstone out.

Or pull on your big-boy pants and take the fight. There’s likely to have been more RPers than there were gankers. I think. Quantity beats Quality.

Yes, but you’d still ruin your event (imagine you were there with friends/your guildies).

In the end, maybe you know it better than me and there were no “ganking squads” that made RP impossible and what not, and maybe DB died just like other RP servers, because AD was better at satisfying people’s demands and it created a domino effect.

But if there were ganking squads, I can’t possibly envision the same thing happening to AD, because it misses those dynamics that enabled those squads on DB.

yeah that does sound pretty horrible I wonder what demographic did that to RPers

perhaps it was none RPers on an RP realm that were hunting down and corpse camping RPers?

we might never know

Yeah cool, OOCers should RP or get out. Surely you’d think that the main focus of AD (roleplayers) take precedence over OOCers that have no intention of getting involved in any sort of RP. I implore any OOCer to try RP just one time, despite the absolute choice waffle on forums, RP is fun and the community is welcoming.

If you don’t RP, or have any intention to RP, then why would you join an RP realm? You don’t see me strolling into a church despite being atheist (I’m sure the congregation would be just as welcoming).

And once more for the hard of hearing… ITS PERFECTLY OKAY TO RP AND DO CONTENT ALSO.

tl:dr Make the effort to RP if you’re on an RP realm, OOCers should :point_right:t2: :airplane:

The train toy and mammoth mount were as disruptive to RP as the PvP ruleset ever was tbh.

Yeah whenever I get beaten in warmode I enter an incredibly soulful rivalry with my foe

Please re-enter reality I beg

I swear whoever designed that was a GS regular. There’s a few pieces like this.

For females: we all know how that specific piece looks

For males: just pants

Why?

God I would like to do a study on this. What type of people choose what race and for what reason. Nixxiom did a video on this once about “What your race tells about you” and ever since that video I was wondering what race is really my thing. I can say: none. I feel connected to not a single race in WoW. Which is sad.

My best guess is also how transmogs look on them. Since tauren look atrocious in most mogs. But male night elves don’t look too bad in most mogs, although their weird narrow waist might be what throws people off. But then again worgen got the same, but I see male worgen oftenly. As I said, I would like to know more details on this.

Or you can just stay and only salty kids will bother crying about it.

Idk about you but if my event got attacked by gankers I’d tell my hombres to suit up and I’d have a great deal of fun spanking them ganksters. Gotta remember that often gankers have poorer gear than your average RPer - or they get swarmed.

Because World of Warcraft wasnt made in 2020. It was made in 2004 when people could still make slutmogs without the internet slaying them for it. @krar
