Speaking of Team Aqua being quite nutty, I think the pokemon generations episode really high-lighted well just -how- nutty they were.

Also Kyogre is actually darn terrifying.

Now I’m thinking of the manga and my heart aches.

Lysander’s overall plan/logic was that pokĂ©mon and the world is beautiful, but pokĂ©mon and humanity combined causes pain and suffering, and to keep the world beautiful forever, the entire planet needs to be nuked by a legendary to wipe out all life in existence, and specifically with no chance to recover, ever, to keep this from happening again.

Because then it stays beautiful forever??

Did you play Y Vixi?

It was Y I played yeah, with Ylvetal!

So sad they never made Pokemon Z or Pokemon DeltaEmerald.

Basically the full version of Team Flare is that they are very National Socialist-y. They want to kill anyone who isn’t them and for them to be immortal for their “Beautiful World”.

Ahh.

That’s a little less
bizarre, but a bit more disturbing.

I never played X so I didnt get the side of that story.

Yeah, they basically upped the focus of one half in each game to connect to the cover legendary more.
I’m pretty sure in a scene where they try to use the Yveltal to kill he protag in Y they try to make them immortal using Xerneas in X.

They wanted to wipe pokemon too in X.

Rocket: Control everything
Magma: make more land
aqua: FLOOD!!!
Galactic: New woooorld
Plasma: First we pretend to be good then go nuts
Flare: All die but us
Skull: Punks
Yell don’t get a mention cuz they’re dumbdumb.

I do think it’s nice that they complement eachother a bit though, having learned that.

Man
y’all reminding me how sad I was (and still somewhat am) about Sword/Shield.

Here’s to hoping GF gets their sh*t together for the next game.

Honestly still so salty about how they made the mainline games even more casual despite Let’s Go! being a thing now. :pensive:

That said, I’m also fine with USUM being the end of the road. Still occasionally have fun breeding new PokĂ©mon & trying out new teams in the Battle Tree.

I actually really enjoyed Sw/Sh for all its flaws.

Honestly, I don’t doubt that even disgruntled PokĂ©mon players like me might end up enjoying it.

Being the “hardcore” fan I am though, I tend to spend hours upon hours in the postgame. That’d include transferring (and using) PokĂ©mon from the older games. But then they’d be stuck without their mega evos and z-moves in the best case and not even usable period in the worst case (until GF decides otherwise
). That’s a deal-breaker for me.

The worst part is that they said this is how it’s gonna be from now on, so
 yeah. :pensive:

When comes to Pokemon teams t’s really simple:

  • Team Valor is best. Objectively. I just happen to be in it.
  • Team Mystic are cool. They’d be best if it wasn’t for Team Valor.
  • Team Instinct are snicker
they are struggles to keep a straight face they are there.

I love playing Sword personally! Now there’s lots of things to do online anyway. As a standalone game i’d be bored but dens etc are fun.

Since the topic of Defias came up a bit earlier, RP Gank Guilds were definitely a thing, there were a few PvP guilds that would keep track of RP Events that took place outside of Blue-Shield zones and then attack them, forcing the Role-Players to either postpone until the PvPers left and hope they don’t return, or ask other RP guilds on the server for aid, which in the early days of the RP Gank Guilds used to happen more often, but over time people got tired of this routine, either transferring to Argent Dawn, or quitting WoW entirely.

A few of the RP guilds did inquire with GMs whether this broke the RP rules of the server, and on occasion during Wrath, we would get GMs that would ask the PvP guilds to leave or face punishment, however Cataclysm onwards, the GMs would basically tell us that as Defias was a PvP realm as well as a RP realm, PvP did not count as griefing and that the RP rules are secondary to the PvP ones so they would not act against the RP Grief Guilds.

I believe Orcs of the Red Blade and Second Gurubashi Empire were the most effected by the RP Gank Guilds, my being an Officer of the former from WotLK until late in MoP, I later learned there were members in one of the more prominent gank guilds that held a personal grudge against us.
