Toxic Horrors farm in Felwood?

I have a quest rated level 56, Toxic Horrors, have to get 3 droplets from the Horrors in the Irontree Woods in Felwood.

Thing is, whenever I go there, over the past week, there are level 60 Hordies farming these creatures … why? Do they drop something else useful? I’ve never been there without seeing at least 3 or 4 level 60 Horde …

They drop Essence of Water, which sells for up to 15g a pop, on my server anyway. It’s very likely the most profitable single target farm you can do in game right now.
The way I did the quest was to join a hunter on my faction who was farming them and let him have all the loot, the quest items just remained on the corpses for me to scavange after.

On the very high pop servers (which OP is on) they’ve been as high as 30-40g each.

At least on a PvE server, the most efficient way to get Essence of Water is by fishing. Single layer and PvP may change the dynamics of that, although I would imagine the same is true for the Felwood farm as well.

The item also drops from the elementals in Eastern Plaguelands, but the drop rate isn’t all that great there either and the mobs are immune to frost damage (so mages might not find it quite as easy). However, there are two lakes and a lot more elementals than in Felwood.

As far as the quest goes, yes…join someone who is farming, if you can.

Prices on Pyrewood are around 14g/piece. It’s still the most valuable essence, so the undeath to water transmutes may also be profitable (assuming you are not transmuting arcanite - I think it’s the same cooldown).

Tried the same quest i just skipped it. Youre better off grinding that xp tthan trying to do that quest

Why? It was the easiest q ever. I just asked 60 to inv me as I only needed the q items and promised I wouldn´t touch anything else.

Because some people are extremely selfish and doesnt care. Yes that can happen too

Surely there will be such players. But most actually appreciate one more guy to tag mobs for them. At least from my experience.

When i did that quest there was a mage speeding around there. He quickly whispered me “what are you doing here??”

I had tried to do this quest too, but was killed by alliance players. But my next early morning attemption was successful.

I have no idea, what they all want to get here. Is there some useful loot from these toxic horrors?

Elemental water, Necropsia, as stated above.

Weaves in and out between lvl 60 horde and Alli beating each other up and got my quest items, seems to be a 100% drop rate.

The title of this thread made me think this was all about the modern gamer’s mentality.

What a moaning mini you are. I had this quest recently too, there was me alone up against five of your alliance and it took me all of 15 minutes to do. Get a grip.

I wasnt complaining about competition for the drops, i just didnt understand what the high levels were farming here.

Have many friends, Ignite?

It´s not. I had to kill 6 to get 3 drops.

All you had to do was Google it rather than post here.

How pathetic.

All you have to do is to ignore the thread if it bothers you so much ???
