Toxicity towards new players

Unfortunately was the same thing when i started during WoD-times. Got kicked out of my first 5 dungeons 4 times. I stopped playing but got notified/triggered again by the Legion trailer.

The thought of us 2 recommending it would be enough to put anyone off :rofl:

Yes, certain amount aka new players.

Sometimes i wonder if people just make up these claims about getting votekicked in leveling dungeons. I have leveled like 3 or 4 alt toons during shadowlands and all the times i did dungeons while leveling everyone was just on autopilot, people could go afk for minutes while the rest of the group just blasted through, no one cared, since you could two man most dungeons.

Where do you find these people that get pedantic over leveling dungeons?

I’ll thirdly recommend Scared of Dungeons… wait does that make it worse?

Mine was BFA… when Sylvy screamed “FOR THE HORDE” my mind was like: yep, definitely time to renew. And I really like BFA despite what people might say.

There’s no reason why anyone should be protected from kicks.

Except kicks in the balls, then you’d need protections.

I loved that name. ‘‘Scared of dungeons’’ Our community can be so elitist. Our players suffer Bombshell ptsd and need theraphy group rehabilitation like these. Is pretty telling :face_holding_back_tears:

Ther’s no reason why should new player be kicked.

If someone is griefing, they should definitely be able to be kicked.

Both of you are 100% right.
But a new player isn’t doing intentionaly and the content is easy enough to do it with 3 people.

  1. Purposefully shooting or otherwise [sabotaging] your teammates in an online game.

As long as it’s not intentional they shouldn’t be able to kick the player

Are you trolling me?
Statistically there is almost no chance that new player will deliberately do actions in order to make others to be in state of grieving.

Unless you find low dps to be what you call - griefing.

Any easy way to find it in the list of communities?
Kinda never used it as it wasn’t needed for myself and i was always in guilds.
So now i’m scrolling through the list and it’s endless lol

No, are you trolling? Griefers need to be able to be removed from groups, no matter who they are.

She is playing a rogue which isn’t the easiest granted.

Yeah, I think leveling a rogue character as her first toon is not ideal.

Bm hunter, ret pala, sth like that would be more suitable.

I understand though that it can be a bummer as it’s an RPG and we are all fond of certain classes from other games etc.

Devil’s Advocate: They want to vote kick her because she’s slowing them down. People who are used to the game and leveling don’t see her so much as bad, but as a road block on their path to the end game.

Your mistake was taking her into dungeons before she knew the basics of her class.
When my son started WoW I taught him this after he picked a hunter;

1 This is a target dummy, we come here to practice
2 When you join a dungeon explain to the party you are new and you are young, they will probably be more patient
3 If someone tries to insult you or drag you down, right click their name and go to ignore
4 If they do actually kick you, it’s more about them being selfish with their time in a multiplayer game than you being new, just quest for a while and try again

These simple steps kept my son pretty happy to the point he wanted my daughter to play too, but with her it didn’t last as shes a filthy normie.

Griefing - “intentionally ruining the experience of lesser experienced players by hindering their early game progress”… how do new players do that, exactly?

Perpetually removing a character from an Instance group, because you’re too lazy to form a full Group of your own is more likely to be seen as griefing.

Some players too readily forget that they once were new to the game & any help they received to get where they are now is erased from their memory.

If you are incapable of fostering an inclusive experience in the game, it says more about YOU than the game as a whole.
