I don’t really care about the Trading Post.
I’m quite happy with the way my character looks and the mounts and pets I have.
I do the Adventurer’s Journey out of habit and sometimes by sheer accident.
Sometimes I buy some stuff from the Trading Post, but I never really use any of it.
But obviously the Trading Post is not made for people like me who don’t care. It’s made for collectors and vanity-lovers who do care.
And there’s obviously a business angle to it.
There’s the retention side of it – it’s an indirect version of a Battlepass with all the FOMO that goes along with it.
And there’s the currency side of it – the buying, selling, and acquiring.
And Blizzard definitely have an interest in making the currency more valuable, which they do by increasing the amount of stuff on the Trading Post and the cost of it.
At the end of the day, then Blizzard sells the Trader’s Tenders currency when they put out their Deluxe Expansion Edition with a bonus amount of Trader’s Tenders. That deal is only enticing if players really need those Trader’s Tenders. So it’s good for Blizzard if players feel that they are often short on Trader’s Tenders.
It’s the same when transmogrification sets appear on the Online Store with the stipulation that they’ll be available on the Trading Post later. If players are already short on Trader’s Tenders, then they’re more inclined to buy those transmogrification sets on the Online Store for money.
And the system is kind of shielded from heavy criticism, because people like me are sitting on thousands of Trader’s Tenders because I don’t care and don’t see where there’s an issue, and the collectors and vanity-lovers are so short on Trader’s Tenders that they can’t afford all the stuff they want and they freeze stuff and pray to the Gods and so forth.
So yeah, I think it works as intended. For Blizzard.

Fair point, there’s no RNG involved, it’s purely shopping.
Would be fine, so expect sales soon and everything on the shop
i think achievements in the achievement panal should give you tenders
- lets face it the achievement panel is outdated
a reward for an achievement could be 10 tenders

I seriously doubt it, considering you don’t “win” something, you’re buying it.
In mobile/free games, yes. WoW is neither. WoW also have a lot more parental control than those. And anyway it’s not illegal per se to sell (electronic) things to 12 year olds
And let Blizzard give things away for free because people play the game and go after achievements? Are you mad? In this economy?
lol
i know right
i think its a good idea though, incentive to do achievements for players
There’s no need to put the currency in the shop, as they already have had quite some trading post items in the shop.
You mean they’ve had quite some shop items on the trading post

Eh, perhaps that wording suits better, yes.
Hmmm idk, I rarely find anything that I like and I mostly buy stuff that I will never use. I mean I could save tenders if I wanted to so the 1000 tenders per month don’t really seem an issue for me. But having more tenders wouldn’t hurt the people that actually find items they like month to month.
Agree, too expensive and too many things costing from 600-800 is not sensical. It should be only mounts at max that have higher price but I see even random weapons put for 800 even when they are nothing of too much special even though this is opinional ofc, but if something for example is just one item of burning flail then why would I pay 800 for it if on comparison some mount that is more value in practise also costs 800. Even the 600 tendies costing weapons or single items doesnt make any sense to me. The whole thing seem to have pretty random pricings that doesnt make sense in general. Lets try and make the pricings more sensical would be my msg to blizzard I guess.

I find some items to be overpriced. Like one pet this month was just too expensive compared to other pets. Not a big issue for me, i just dont buy it, but i can see how its an issue for others.
I most of the time have more tenders then i can spend cause im not a collector or big on transmog so i dont buy stuff every month.

Definitely too expensive lately and typically I never have enough on months I want a lot. Probably on purpose so I buy it next time.

…agree - would be good if they either reduce the cost or increase amount allocated and yes to earn some extra/bonus on top would be fab each month.
I seem to be similar in terms of focus on the mount -this month purchased the mount frozen from last month (hand one) and placed the new mount in the freezer
… I had a thing about cloaks and hoods for awhile but think I have collected all colours now.

Why was Wind-Up Wuffi and Wind-Up Woofer only 300, then the Time-Lost Salamanther is double the cost?
Or more
I suggested at the beginning of the TP that you can get more tenders even if you have already completed the goal.
Then 95% of the commenters started crying that they don’t want to grind…
I say that if the monthly goal is met, the other tasks should also give a small tender.
I think the concern with your suggestion was making the entire list of tasks give extra currency. Rather than this is a suggestion to extend on being able to earn a limited amount extra.
I think we should be able to grind currency for the traders post yes, it would give people reason to do stuff in the game and I do like trading post so I would gladly grind resources for it between ques for pvp.

That’s right!
If someone doesn’t want to grind, they don’t grind. It is optional.
