So with Anniversary servers out (which is really fun) will is be possible for us that wants, to transfer to era from anniversary and stay in vanilla classic before the release of Burning Crusade or are we forced to let our characters stay on that server?

I can imagine they will offer a copy to Era and your char will be also moved to TBC. This way you will have both options.
Anything else wouldn’t make much sense imo.

yes totally agree with you there. Some people have claimed that it is impossible due to the dual specs, but from what I understand they’ve transfered characters from SOD to era so I don’t really get how a dual spec would be any different. Just remove it imo.

This is not correct. There were transfers from SOM to Era - not SOD.
But I agree that dualspec should not be a reason to stop transferring to Era: the character would just be copied over with the current spec.

Well I hope you’re wrong. I know a big part of the player base want the transfer to happen before they launch Burning Crusade. I just hopped on this anniversary-train because the ERA servers felt a little empty when they released them. Not dead, but atleast less active.

They may wait to see what players want. I hope they’ll allow a transfer to ERA, I’d rather keep pottering about in Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. But yeah, would be nice to know what they are going to do with it.

Best way to get them to do it is to demand it - If its not in the plans, demand for it should seal the deal.
Therefore this thread is already doing its part.

I was under the impression that anniversary go to tbc and possibly no further, obv its waaaay too early to tell yet due to the fact that further is still a longways off.

I dont think enabling transfers thst way would be healthy for the megaservers.
Reason being if yiu want era the got tog to it now instead of demanding new services being put in place to move.
Look at it this way ok just to move chars is gnna be an issue bc the anniverssary arent linked directly to era.
Your literally gna have to build multiple briges tonget from anniversary to era bc right now theyre segragated with no way to link them.
Its a similar situation to whats going on with the sod its a complely different phase.
Era has less systems on compared to anniversary, so lets say you bought dual spec in anniversary, you gnna take that when you transfer i assume ??NOPE it’ll be lost, gold investment included.
Just bc anniversary is based in era rn dosent mean its the same game bc its not, i dont see the characters even being compatible bc of the changes made.
All i can say is this if you want era then go play those servers instead.

The 2 versions are incompatible… anniversary has chars with dual spec …
Hows that going to work with era ??
If its introd on era ppl will kick off bc of meta specs and cookie cutter builds and you know im 10000000% right.
The peeps on era like it as it is, demanding change will cause a ruckus.
