Hello all. I created this topic mostly to draw Blizzard attention to the matter, so making this topic popular with your responds would be appreciated.
So, TBC Pre Patch for Anniversary has been announced as well as the opportunity of character transfer to Classic Realms. It has been said that we would have only an option to choose between progressing to TBC and transferring our characters to Classic realms. We are not getting the chance to both keep our progress in Classic and try out TBC with our existing characters like it was before with “Copy character” function. I understand that Blizzard wants to get more money from selling boosts to those who wants to keep their progress on Classic realms and are not willing to level up another character for TBC, but come on! We are still paying monthly subscription, give us possibility to do both like it was before!

If that would be the case, we would see Cloning option already..but we don’t.
But who knows? Maybe they will add the Clone service for a price so you guys keep your chars on both ERA and TBC.
I believe that it is a case. Because if you want to keep your character and do not want to lvl one more time, you should buy a boost which is far more expensive that Copying function could possibly be. Especially since you can’t buy a boost without buying a bundle))) Good marketing defines that company makes a product that people happy to buy and not the other way around. Probably Blizzard will loose more on subscription of disappointed players than they will make on this boosts offers if they will not start to actually listen to their customers.
And why not both ways? Why not allow era players paid character copying to TBC so we can carry on our adventure on our existing characters.
They could create an entire eco system of of era vanilla, era TBC, era WOTLK and HC servers.
It just seems like such an oversight to not allow this, and the could even generate more income from doing it.
I would love to keep levelling HC characters but when they die or I’m done with them on HC servers, I can just to copy them to era or tbc to continue.

I think its the worries about bots/economies as chars flood in loaded with mats / gold from other areas… of course this could be solved by placing caps on gold or items as you xfer but that would require effort and they dont seem to care about classic at all

I would also love this option, i have - and are still - putting alot of time into my character and not ready to abandon classic, while at the same time im ready for tbc since i had alot of good times on there…
