Transmog restrictions

I totally understand the point you’re making, especially with Tirion. But in reality, you will see Warlocks running around in Retribution armour. Giving players that option is not something I can get behind… even if it stops a few players from using a Leather belt on their Hunter, because it fits a little nicer.

You won’t get one with out the other unfortunately.

Of course it is.

What is ridiculous about wanting more transmogg options?

I hate almost all mail transmogg on my hunter and shaman…

I wish for the day when they can wear leather

Wanting more transmog options isn’t what I’m against here. I want Blizz to put more transmog options in the game.

I totally agree most Mail armour is disgusting, but why can’t we be persuading Blizzard to just design some decent mail armour sets.

Why do we have to start removing Boundaries which help with the Class identification and Individuality?

You’re asking for something so minor, that it runs the risk of ruining the fantasy for other people.

You know what i want? Probably not but i’ll type it either way.

Transmog pick up restrictions lifted! For example i play as a leather i go to certain raids get cool plate items it should already unlock those transmog appearances for other classes, making it more enjoyable to obtain transmogs. It already sucks that in my bank sits tusks of mannaroth and cannot unlock the appearance itself. But it is what it is.

I am totally over this suggestion.

it’s so painful when that Cloth item you’ve been farming for months drops on your Paladins run.

Go look at the character collections on the armoury, if it is an alt they are on different accounts.

I suppose it all boils down to the point that does transmogged armour weigh the same as the original item or the item used for transmog. I would say the latter.

If you could use different armour type transmogs then you should get the reduction in stats you get when you use another type of armour than your preferred one. Otherwise it’s a hard no from me.

This I agree with.

Agreed 100% with the OP.

Because they’ve had about 17 years to give us decent mail armour sets.
And they failed. Miserably.

Too be fair… the Mail armour sets from Warfronts, were pretty sick! at least for horde, I can’t remember the alliance version.

These are the only ones I wear on my Mail wearers.

i agree on the class sets that should remain class restricted imho.

BUT:
people can tank literally naked as a plate wearer, and many mogs are universal, see the aspirant kyrian set that looks like cloth but can already be mogged by plate/mail/leather wearers.

most mogs do not even look like the armor type they’re supposed to be.
there’s plenty of mail or leather gear that looks like plate, or plate pieces that look like cloth ( see my avatar, tha’ts plate armor according to the game)

if you want to look like a plate wearing character nobody is forcing you to mog into silky robes, you can still mog yourself in plate looking gear.

as said many hats should be used by everyone.

in conclusion:
I believe that some restrictions should be lifted, a good compromise could be to be able to mog UP to the kind of armor types a character can wear.
and maybe let the 2 hand weapons (swords, axes, maces) be mogged into the 1h appearances too.

This is one of the reasons i will never run SoO on something that is not a plate character.

Well taste is subjective.

There is not one single mail armor set I’d wear in its entirety.
To me all mail armor sets can categorized into 3 groups:

  1. Meh
  2. Bad looking
  3. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!

But there are some individual pieces that look good, sure.

Be aware tho.

If you agree with the thread topic, this googlewack paladin will just assume you are an alt of the dwarf

No, I trust OP to be sensible enough not to play a gnome. Nobody can have THAT many bad ideas

You know that we already have quite a few options for Plate wearer to look like they’r in wedding gown on open dress and there is some “plate” options available to everyone too.

Ability to tell the armor types apart by looking a theirs transmogs a long time in the past.

While I would like all restrictions dropped, I could still get behind keeping the tier sets class specific. These are very much based on class identity and it would give each class something unique. All other stuff though should be unrestricted.

Tier sets being restricted is all good. No problem with that.

Also LOL to people saying “but warlock wear cloth” and then you look at some cloth pieces that does not look like cloth AT ALL.

Also, those piececs that are obviously plates from Thorgast can be equipped by anyone. So really, restrictions make no sense at this point.

I’d love to be able to do wee wee enlargement customization as I have a small wee wee irl, and would love to show that I have a big one ingame.
