Transmog restrictions

I would personally love for all clothes that NPCs have to be avaliable to us as well. I would not mind having to go through long quest-chains, having to spend gold, working hard for them.

I would also love a system where I could dye my own clothes in different shades to obtain transmogrifications in that manner.

You can use white and leather and whatever you want to your Paladin right now. But you wont be competitive in PvP and PvE.

I dont like the idea for transmog every available gear in the game!

PS: But still… on the other hand… You can play naked without armor, only pants :stuck_out_tongue: Thats available transmog. It dont make sense.

Warrior only with pants but he still have 4124124124 health and cant be killed in 213123123 hits.

Varian has mail too, so your argument is totally valid

I’d also would love to see battle classes, like battle mages with shield and the same goes for locks too. Many people rip as battle something yet they look nothing like battle ready individuals

I think the class sets should stay as for those classes only. Currently you don’t get DKs running around in Paladin set pieces.

I’m all for some loosening of the restrictions. Maybe just some slot for now. Head, feet and gloves can be made less restrictive witout impacting the lore particularly. A warrior with a leather cap or a mage with leather boots and gloves won’t break the game.

As the whites and greys, This would be really good. My DK would look pretty cool in some fo the grimy grey pieces out there.

The Stormwind set from the Garrison is a Cosmetic Plate set so Warlock can already run around in a full set of plate armour if they want to. You probably don’t see it often as most people who play Warlock don’t want ot run around in plate armour.
Most people don’t want ridiculous looking armour so the restrictions aren’t really needed to prevent wildly absurd looking around. And so what is one or two people decide they do want to look absurd, meh…

Ey do I look like I wear mail here?
On a serious note, I agree, although I think Blizzard doesn’t want to because you’d lose some class identity.

At this point, they may as well allow this cross-armor type thing. Class identity was a solid argument up to a point but I feel we are long past it now. If not that, then some alternative mog options (holiday gear coming to mind) should see some relaxing.

Also, acquisition of mogs from old dungeons should have some fixing, even maybe going as far as allowing for apparance from another class to be collected (or be bound on account to be sent to alt). Some of the old raid trash drops literally BoP items of the wrong armor type which I feel should be changed given how they are already small chance drops and trading them could be good for the AH economy. Farming older instances is actually content by now and it should deserve some attention from time to time in cases where the grind if too obnoxious.

I believe blizzard should remove these restrictions and make pants invisible like the rest.

I don’t understand this argument about “Class Identity” as a counterpoint from removing the armor type barrier, if I’ll be honest. Does it not entail what kind of combat style a class has, what abilities they use and how they interact with the world?

I think there’d be a sound argument about “Class Identity” if every melee class could have similar playstyles, if Druids weren’t the only ones who could shapeshift or if spellcasters all had a fireball spell (It’s why I find Destruction Warlocks and Fire Mages to be a bit too similar). I’m not too sure if “Warlock being able to wear plate” or “Warrior wearing leather” is quite the thing that takes away “Class identity”.

Small bump.

I agree with this, especially the old starter robes for Blood Elf Mages.

Why can so many Blood Elf NPC’s wear this robe, but the closest thing I can have to wearing it is the Netherweave Robe.

Yes please do this. There is a grey item sold in ORG by some orc that I would like to use as a transmog. It is a plank of wood with nails in it. They removed the restriction from the broken bottle weapon so they can surely do that change.

who is stoping your paladin to look like that? its a option, YOU do not need to change or use stuff u dont like, i dont get ppl these days, so rest of plate users should not be allowed because YOUR PALADIN HAS TO LOOK a certain way.

GOsh

GOLLY GOSH! Did you even read what I wrote?

I’m all for transmogs of any armor type being usable by any class.

NPCs do it, so why not players?

My DID lock wears plate heritage armour

Aw jeez, your post has been read, and disagreement followed!

We can all agree about class sets being relegated to their respected classes (As they’ve been this entire time), but there’s no real excuse for the rest of the armor styles.

and if you are plate ui can unlock all apperances for example…

because since u can wear it u can transmog it also!

Also hunters and shaman should be able to transmog leather gear

Then there are clearly some literacy issues, either that or the response was for someone else. Because it was completely off topic to my point. I wouldn’t have even described it as a disagreement.

why did you bump this thread?
