Trial account lost access to warband bank

Well well. After almost half year this happened. Why should not i store all garbage and stackable items along with good stuff on the trial account? -Thought me. Since feature was already released ~2months ago at that point and all needed major fixes and adjustments kinda should be done.

Is it permanent state now? Is it solved by convertation trial into cheapest available paid license? Is it somewhere good source of all planned changes list in one place? Cuz i cannot read all social networks where info is spreaded.

It also doesnā€™t work for me, I subbed just to see if it would make it work, but it still doesnā€™t allow to use warband bank. I think its bugged

There is an unannounced change that trial accounts cannot make use of the warbank at the moment.

I think thereā€™s a short duration after a long term unsub period before perks become active again, usually this can take up to 24h. But may include the Warbank.

I think itā€™s correct. Because even though Iā€™m subbed, I still canā€™t invite people to party, etc.

My guess is that Blizz decided to limit trial account as much as possible. Just yesterday I found that I can complete some anniversary quests at level 10+, but quest item told me that I canā€™t start this quest. Happy anniversary I guess.

It is a trial account after all, means to let you demo the game not play the game fully.

Then I guess I was mistaken thinking that developers decided to be a little more generous.
Well, lets enjoy the game until they fix the other two bugs, which are ā€œtrial accounts can use flight mounts and transfer currenciesā€

Thereā€™s a bigger bug with transferring certain currencies that goes entirely poof tooā€¦

yea, thatā€™s not how it works.

when you take out someoneā€™s ability to do stuff, you announce it early enough so people can finish their business.

Same thing for me, I use an old account which is unsubbed as a bank. The alts in had matts from past exanpansions in them. If this is an intended change we should have been told as Iā€™ve a lot of stuff in these bank alts. Very cheap of them to do this as players pay for the Warbound bank and need a subbed account to properly use it. The only people itā€™ll annoy is us the paying customer who just uses a trial / old unsubbed account for bank space.

Well well. Another day another blizzard miracle.
For the historical record all i think about yall can be stated in just 2 words.

Had warbanks been inaccessible for trial/veteran accounts from the start, I would have understood.

-But it is very much NOT ok to have us happily store everything, and then all of a sudden and with no warning go: ā€œHa-ha, all your stuff and all your gold is goooone! You can look, but not touch! Teehee, neener-neener!ā€

  1. Warband Bank window can be opened from bank NPCs but nothing can be taken out or deposited.
  2. Gold cannot be deposited or withdrawn from the Warband Bank.
  3. ā€œWarband Bank Distance Inhibitorā€ summons the glowing ball but clicking on it gives an error message.

I play on a veteran account without a sub as I do not always have enough time to play or the ability to sub. The Warband Bank was a great feature to become available as I could store away items that I could not use without subbing. While I do understand there are several reason for a change like this, taking away a big feature like this after having given access to it without any warning or mentioning it in patch notes, is NOT okay.

I think you are aware that there are a lot of restrictions with trial/unsubbed accounts. There have been a great many changes from what it used to be before BfA, like the 10 gold limit, classic content access only, classic professions only till 100 points, no trade, no chat, no mail, no AH, among several others. Now we have a 1,000 gold limit and can access any expansion content, but as unsubbed is just to demo the game, maybe Blizzard should just change all this back to the way it was before.
There are many people right now who play the game without a sub, there are communities and websites around it as well. So people are not just demo-ing the game on trial accounts. There are people who get BiS gear and do BGs, do achievements, farm stuff. When I am unsubbed and want to escape for a bit, I get on my level 20 and go exploring or do some quests or just do some fishing. So I do disagree with you on what you think a trial account means to people right now.

I will add this, I did create a ticket and the first response I got was robotic but then a GM did say that the devs are aware of this issue and while the GM did not confirm if this was an intended change or a bug, I do hope it is a bug and not an intended change.

If Blizzard did not give trial/veteran accounts access to Warband Bank from the very start people would not be complaining about this access revoked change. The F2P community has always taken what little Blizzard has given our way and made the best of it. But giving us an amazing feature like this and taking it away without saying anything is not okay.

Man, if this is indeed intentional they couldā€™ve at least warned us 1 week before. Now everything Iā€™ve worked for over last couple of months is stuck in my warband bank. Thanks a lot.

Look, the company can change their policy anytime they want, if required, without warning. We may not like such changes but we cannot stop them. But at least issuing a clarification is needed. Is this a bug? Is this an intended change?

Even after making a ticket and talking to a GM, I do not know if this a bug being worked on to be fixed or an intended change that will stay in place. All that I got is that the devs are aware of this issue.

honestly, this treatment just seems so unfair.

what, all that lengthy post about next patch content and they did not have 10 seconds to notify ā€œnext weekly reset will see trial accounts lose access to warband bankā€?

this is inexcusable, even for the shillest of the shills.

A lot of people had been using a trial account for storing stuff from their main account. If there was a warning, they could have moved stuff out. There still isnā€™t any clarity if this is a bug or an intended change.

Yes they can, but its bad practice to do so without noting the change in the patchnotes somewhere. They donā€™t even have to say why, just something to confirm its an intentional change and not a bug.

Letā€™s summarize.
Why was access closed?

Is this done against bots? - No!
To farm gold, you need a normal account with a level 80 character.

Is this done so that the FTP players would pay for the subscription? - No!

If I have a subscription, then it means that I have a guild bank, a post office, an auction. I donā€™t need a warband at all.

So who got worse?

Those who came to the game occasionally on trial.
Now they will play even less often.
Conclusion is an absolute morons work in the blizzard company.
Thatā€™s all.

So here are the replies I got on my ticket on this issue. I donā€™t think people run the Customer Support anymore, just a bunch of robots that donā€™t even understand the problem.

(1) We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing technical difficulties.
Based on the information you have provided, this issue should be resolved by following some specific troubleshooting steps. We recommend starting with the troubleshooting guide available on our support site: https://battle.net/support/article/000358715
This guide covers common issues and solutions that should resolve the problem you are experiencing.
If the previous troubleshooting steps do not resolve the problem, you can ask the Blizzard player community for help on the tech support forums (if available) or other community gaming sites. Local computer or network technicians may also be able to help if youā€™ve exhausted all other resources.

(2) As I understood, youā€™re having some issues when you try to access to your Warband Bank. To begin, I really apologize for the inconveniences this issue is causing you, as a player myself I really understand the frustration and discomfort this may be causing you, Iā€™m totally on your side. Regarding your problem, Iā€™ve checked into your account and verified that everything is correct with it, so with that said, I want you to know that the issue is not related to your account, It is related to our system. Iā€™ve done some research and found that there is a current known issue about the same inconvenience youā€™re experiencing in which our developers are already working to solve it as soon as possible.
I know this issue is preventing you to have a good moment while playing our game and Of course thatā€™s not the idea!, Thatā€™s not the experience we wanna give our players! I want you to know that we really care for our player and we will solve this matter soon. However, I would really like to explain you that we as Customer Support are not able to modify, solve, update, delete or add something into the game, thatā€™s only something that our developers have the power to do, but I will do my best to let our developers know that this issue is still affecting our valuable players like you in order to get a solution in the shortest possible time.
In addition, to work together in this, I would kindly suggest you to submit a bug report in our forums to be able to have a solution soon, however, If youā€™ve already done it, I just have to say thank you for taking the time to.

(3) First off, sorry youā€™re dealing with this hiccup ā€“ I know it can be a bit of a bummer. Unfortunately, us folks at Customer Support canā€™t directly fix these mechanics-related issues, but weā€™re here to help guide you through a possible solution!
Letā€™s try a UI reset. Itā€™s like a magic trick that can help sort out addon conflicts and fix any pesky corrupt files. I get it, though ā€“ resetting everything might seem like a hassle. Big thanks for taking this step!
Hereā€™s the plan:

  1. Delete CurseForge or WoW Matrix if you have them installed.
  2. Close down WoW if itā€™s still running.
  3. Head to your World of Warcraft folder (look for -Retail_ or choose Classic if itā€™s happening there). (Shortcut: Right-click the WoW icon, choose Open File Location)
  4. Delete these two folders: WTF, Cache.
  5. Rename Interface to Interface.old (This keeps your addons safe but takes them out of the game temporarily for testing).
If you get an error while deleting or modifying these folders, just restart your computer to finish uninstalling CurseForge/WoW Matrix.
If that doesnā€™t do the trick or if you stumble upon any more bugs, we recommend filing a Bug Report. It might not give you an instant fix, but it sends crucial info about your character and the situation to the Development and Quality Assurance Teams. Theyā€™ll dive into it and work on resolving any issues if they find something off. Hereā€™s the link to submit a Bug Report: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/15043

Notice how reply (2) states this is a known bug and the problem is NOT on my end and then reply (3) goes on to ask me to reset UI, among the several other things that will make you sigh.
