I am trying to do secrets of azeroth to get the felcycle mount. I have completed the parts for the spear, and did the quest for the challice. I tried to do the Tricked-Out Thinking Cap quest, but the quest ‘Unfinished Thinking Cap’ didn’t reward me with the toy. I checked my bags, mail, toy collection and alts but the toy is nowhere to be found.

The quest ‘Unfinished Thinking Cap’ is flagged as completed.

I have the detective title and the inquisitive title unlocked aswell as the ‘A Preservationist’ and ‘Ceremonial Spear’ achievement.

I tried to do the quest again on 3 seperate alts after failing to get it on my main, and none of them are able to get the cap either.

Dito, a GM promised me the developers are already working on fixing this problem…
I think we have to wait.

They told me the same. Here’s to hoping! I just wonder if we get notified or if the toy will magically appear, or we have to do the quest again on an alt… :confused:

Here were are 20 days later and still having this issue. Maybe it will be referenced with the new movie “20 years later” :rofl:

Same problem here, tried it on 3 different chars, boosted, non-boosted, chars that played in DF - no quest reward :frowning:

Same here, no message in chat after turning the quest in that i receivend an item.
not showing up in toys collection, not in inventory/bank on any char.

Same, i cant even see the uncollected thinking cap in my toy box…

Made ticket and got exactly same amswer as above. Linking to article they updated 2 weeks ago. Not looking good guys.

Also found forums adressing this 1 year back.

I’ve completed the “Unfinished Thinking Cap” quest but not recieved the toy preventing me from continuing on the questlines, tried re-logs, restarts, reset my UI, checked mail and other character item is missing. confirmed that the quest is flagged as completed. GM said I should post here for further assistance

Tricked-Out Thinking Cap is not recieved upon completing the quest. I submitted countless bug reports over this, but we are closing in on a 1 year old bug that cuts off millions from progressing further in the questline. I know well we have no support at all in this game anymore, after all the last COMA note was made in 24 december, but one can hope. Please BLIZZARD fix this issue, or at least send the item to the players in mail. This issue would literally take a code edit that’s like 5 minutes, and that’s likely including the dev’s system booting up.

It’s a shame we need to wait years for a bug to be fixed. Maybe try to fly over the mailbox in Grookin Hill?

Jokes aside, i asked my wife to try the same quest, differrent realm, differrent faction, she had the same problem. Another bug report have been made, we can only hope.

Just did the quest now on my main, still bugged, how is this still an issue it’s been MONTHS?!!?

I have a similar problem.
I had completed the quest up until you receive the Tricked-Out Thinking Cap toy when the event was live.

Now after returning to WoW I wanted to finish this quest line but certain quests did not appear, but I was able to continue the steps to trigger the 3 levers to get the quest for the The Torch of Pyrreth but upon delivery that toy was not received from the quest Artifact Secured, which is the one that is supposed to give it to you.
I did get the follow up quest called The Torch of Pyrreth where you actually have to use the toy, but can’t because you didn’t receive it.

I think there is an issue with the quest flags in this quest chain, because there seem to be quests that are flagged as false for me while I have proof that I completed them.

The quest An Inside Job? for example shows as false in game when I run the script to check if I have completed the quest.
The follow up quest for it, Preservationist Cleared, which literally requires the items from this quest, Copied Artifact Storage Key and Maruuk Burial Banner, does show as completed, which isn’t possible if I hadn’t completed the former quest.

I think because of this or other quest flags a lot of the quests in this quest chain don’t show up, because the game thinks you didn’t complete previous quests.

Just adding this in hopes this will help in the process of getting this bug resolved.
