THE HAND OF ZUL
Continuation from Hand of Zul - Troll/Zandalari Guild (Plaguelands Campaign!) - #361 by Yokaiizu-argent-dawn …
The Prophet Zul was once the great hope of troll-kind, a leader for us all, no matter where in de world we come from, but Zul betrayed both himself and de values he stood for when he foolishly sided with G’huun, and dat is something we will never forget, something we will nevah forgive.
But Zul was right about one ting; Trollkind was weakening, forgetting what it once was, day by day. King Rastakhan, though stagnant, at least tried to uphold de old values, and held respect for all tribes. After his death, Queen Talanji took a different path. Now, de last great bastion of Trollish power is under the Horde’s subjugation.
She threw troll tradition, as well as every other tribe, aside. She let a desire for self-preservation lead her. De Amani, de Gurubashi, de Sandfury, and even de Drakkari could do nothing but watch as de Zandalari who promised dem safety betrayed dem purely because dey lack the power dey once had. And why? Because of de very Horde that the Queen is now allied with. And what have we gained of it?Unrest festers like a plague in Zuldazar. Citizens yell their complains, yet deir voices are not to be heard. At de same time, de other tribes are beaten and humiliated, and the guards are taking no action to protect them. There will be no prosperity to be found, down dis path. Only alienation to trollkind’s past and degradation to what once was.
Something must change. For de best of us all.
IC INFORMATION
"The Hand of Zul, opposition to the Queen’s recent Horde-Friendly movements, a group of trolls of all tribes that sought to be independent of the influence of lesser races, is back again! Word of their unexpected return spreads like wildfire throughout every major trollish settlement, especially Dazar’alor.
Previously led by a former member of Zanchul, Prophet Rak’huul, who chose to side with neither Zul nor the crown during the rebellion, this new opposition of troll supremacists seeks to create an alternative to the Zandalari monarchy in the wake of Zul’s defeat, out of the ashes of his old expedition force to Pandaria. We will take in any troll that shares our values, Zandalari, Amani, Gurubashi, Drakkari, Farraki, regardless of their background, regardless of their loa. We are trolls, and our strength has been forgotten for all too long. However, rumours say that recently Zulians opened their doors to Sethrak and Mogu as well, both races owing their allegiance to the allies of old…
“We trolls were first to rule this world, and we shall be the last.” - Prophet Zul
The rise of our opposition has not gone unnoticed by the lesser races. Since the Hand’s foundation, we have endured the hostility of the Horde as well as the racism of Zandalari who consider themselves above the ‘lesser’ tribes. We are not a rebellion, and every single time the fools on the other side have made the mistake of drawing blood first. Even when outnumbered, trolls with no affiliation to the Hand have stepped in to protect the opposition, for they can see true justice when it stands before them. But make no mistake, when we are free of the Horde’s tyrannical gaze, we will prove our superiority to all, through conquest and domination.
But alas, before his assasination, Prophet Rakhuul handed over the mantle of leadership to his succesors, a council of capable and wise trolls continuing the legacy of Prophet Zul and Rakhuul. To bring the lives of trolls back to where they should be. On top of all the other lesser races.
RANKS
Council(Officer) - Rather than responding to commands of a single leader, the Hand of Zul has its own group of specialised trolls who regularly convene for closed meetings where they discuss issues and how to handle them. Current council members are:
- Makona, Speaker of Gold
- Master Alchemist Maz’jo
- Taki’zulu, Keeper of the Hand
- High Priestess Tix’azli
- Yoka, Speaker of the Jungles
- Warlord Zek’tulo
Champion (Non-Commissioned Officer) - The champions are the loyal veterans of the Hand who have undergone every trial and proven themselves worthy; specialised and capable enforcers of the council’s will. They are the specialists in their respective fields, always boasting a fairly gained title as an evidence of their deeds within the cause.
Loyalist (Veteran) - Trolls who have served the opposition faithfully for a long period of time will be granted the status of a loyalist. More often than not, these trolls will be designated to specific tasks and when having shown that they are able to complete these tasks rewarded with titles worthy of their deeds.
Proven (Member) - The bulk of the Hand’s strength is made up of the trolls who have proven their loyalty and usefulness through action or wisdom. But gaining the trust of the upper echelons isn’t easy, and many trolls don’t make it even here.
Unproven (Recruit) - All trolls start out as unproven. No matter how strong or wise they may be, all must prove their loyalty and earn the trust in a movement that values secrecy and political subtlety so much. These trolls receive rights like all others, but they have no hand in the decision making of the opposition and are required to follow orders until they prove themselves.
Outsider (OOC or Unrecruited) - Don’t trust these mons!
THERE IS NO SLEEPER CELL. We absolutely do not believe that every good troll guild needs a scheming Hakkari cult secretly working from within and we absolutely do not have members who are secret Hakkari both IC and OOC! But also if we were to have an internal secret cult, then it would probably be open for new interested cultists to join, but that’s no worry because we absolutely don’t have one! Who even is Hakkar?!
OOC INFORMATION
- Although previously we have been known ICly under the guise of Gilded Tusks and Spear of the Tribes, circumstances have changed and Hand of Zul is back from hiding once more. No more lurking in the shadows; Zulians are back to restore troll empire to its former glory!
- Our primary objectives are to gain favour from the tribes, exiles, as well as casteless and lower caste trolls to strengthen our own position.
- Yes, our IC goals and aspirations may seem villainous to some due to the troll supremacy theme, but RP is always in need of more antagonists/morally grey characters, and I assure you we’re all good people OOC. That said, the guild has quite a few ‘good guys’ who simply believe that trolls have a birthright to claim.
- As you can probably see from the very fundamental idea of our concept and the fact we (don’t) have a secret internal cult – our OOC philosophy on RP is that we believe conflict always makes for the best and most interesting RP.
- This also means that we are more than interested in the external conflict with other guilds. We already have antagonistic ties set up with many Horde loyal guilds within the Terrace of Tribes troll community (Link to their post down below!), as well as Alliance guilds we often fight with!
- Granted, this kind of RP also has a tendency of bringing with it OOC drama, so we are very strict when we interview people to ensure that every new member knows to keep IC and OOC separate.
- We have also opened up recruitment for Sethrak and Mogu characters. We still do not accept new Vulpera and murlocs.
RULES
- Don’t metagame, don’t poweremote, don’t ERP, don’t grief, don’t bring the guild tag to shame and don’t break the RP-PVP rules.
- You are a representative for the guild, as its member! Please refrain from giving us a bad name in the forums, trade chat, or from person-to-person interactions! Remember, the guild name is always hanging over your head
- IC needs to be kept IC! We are based around IC drama and sometimes it can wind you up OOCly but please understand if we argue ICly it does not mean what so ever we dislike you OOCly.
- Our Discord, and our guild chat are not a place for people to bait post, talk about sensitive RL topics or bring up politics. Above all, we are a community for RP first and foremost.
RECRUITMENT
You can join us via many ways, actually! You may approach us in RP! It’s usually not hard to figure out where we are, and we have active RP more or less every evening. We’re always open to interacting with strangers! Secondly, you can whisper any guildie online and ask to be redirected to an officer, or directly whisper: Takizulu, Yokaiizu, Makona, Zektulo, Mazjo, Jugter.
Finally, you may join our Discord server and get in touch with us through the app as a Guest, where you can also find more information on our concept! Anyone in the guild would be happy to provide a link, simply drop a whisper.
We also wholeheartedly recommend getting involved in the Terrace of Tribes community: [Troll RP] [Discord] Terrace of Tribes - #38 by Kezuga-argent-dawn. Together, we seek to turn Dazar’alor into a viable RP hub! We also have an AA page if you wish to look more into the guild’s concept and hierarchy: https://www.argentarchives.org/node/220478
