TRP3 update

For those of us who care, be we qu3ers of some sort or allies.

" For the next version of TotalRP3, the team has added a “Pronouns” preset to the additional information part of the profile. If set, the value will be shown in your tooltip for other people to see right away."

Nice to know some people may cry but this is a rather helpful field.

Yup, I can see people just rolling their eyes at this. However, I actually welcome this small update.

A delightful update to the ones in need.

This is pretty sweet!

:+1: I’m sure there will be people complaining as per normal, while purposefully ignoring the fact they could… just ignore it? If it bugs them so much.

Good on TRP, says I!

Magnificent! Happy to know simple things like this will be added

It should hopefully solve the perpetual issue nonbinary characters have of being called she/he. Naturally the Attack Helicopter stale meme will abound, but who cares what they have to say?

I love how the Apache helicopter crowd thinks we trans people get all triggered, when all we want is for them to get a new joke. ^^

Of course, I kinda love it when they claim it. It lets me inform them that yes, they certainly come across as a high maintenance tool with severely limited utility and seems like they can only function with a couple of Adderall addicts inside of them.

I won’t be using this feature, but I certainly won’t besmirch someone for using it.

Nice! While I don’t need it for any of my toons, I will use this feature nevertheless. Gets the baddies out of the bushes at least.

I’ll be open and admit I had some scepticism with this before I took a different perspective.

My initial reaction was that we’re going to see an increase in “femboy” (I hate the term but it’s the best descriptor) characters who aren’t playing to express a gender identity as much as they are for a kink, and that we’re going to see more people put stupid, joking things in their TRP as a result of this change.

But then it was pointed out to me - why should those who legitimately want to play a character who might be trans IC, or might use a different model to the one we see in-game suffer because of those who can’t keep questionable practices off WoW, and those who troll and grief?

With that in mind, I think it’s a good change. If people wanna make clowns of themselves then they can, but the real upside is that people get to display something about their character that was previously likely to be buried in the characteristics, about, or OOC tabs.

It’ll probably be an easier way of weeding out people who’re mocking this feature anyway. Easy to see who to avoid/ignore.

I suppose the same can be said otherwise, that if ‘identity politics’ or ‘scary pronouns’ are too much for someone, they can also avoid confrontation instead of being a turd directly.

Though I guess it’s also very naive to think so when the more probable outcome is direct harassment to who opts for using this feature, so perhaps I’m just being too hopeful.

What a cool addition!

Will be using it to normalize using it.

Makes no difference to me, really. Besides the addon itself, you can add a lot of info into it as it is already. For me it’s like, I’ll know judging on their emotes and a description of how they wanna be addressed. Just like I don’t know their name until we start talking.

Yep, this. None of my characters really needed this, but I’ll fill it in because why not? Can’t hurt.
