Will Player Housing actually be a ‘third pillar’ of the game, or is it just going to be another Garrison-style gold sink that dies after one expansion?
Let me check my magic future checking crystal ball..
Huh, it says come back in two years
Like, blizzard claims it’s gonna be evergeen (not going away at the end of the expansion), and maybe that’s true? or maybe it’s not. Only time will tell.
Open World players are the third pillar and their content includes Delves.
But Housing is an evergreen system that is here for the long haul. Garrisons were a feature locked to WoD.
my alliance main says yes, plenty going on. My horde alt says no, dead, not even on first bar of endeavours.
Change neighbourhoonld, preferably with Grummel endeavors. Those are super active.
People want them coffee based items.
I’m on a public neighborhood, I don’t know any of the players that have a house in it and we almost reaching the third milestone.
I’m probably the most active because I’m doing world content and I want to get my house to level 7 but still, I wouldn’t say that housing is dead yet.
Edit: I want to note that my active neighbors are on Alliance, Horde is more quiet.
I’m still trying to figure out what the point of player housing is all about tbh. I understand people wanting it but I find it all rather underwhelming. I’ve been to the island once to create a house but not been back since. Apparently my house is level 3 for some reason. Do people log out in them ?
People create all sorts of rooms, you can use basic items so basically create everything by clipping it into the ground/wall and what not. Building mouse made beautiful windows was quite popular, she or he also made a chessboard fridges sinks etc. If you create all these things from scratch like they did i assume you can spent hours for just a few things. So its a timesink and for blizzard well a goldsink.
The point of player housing is that you can build whatever you want with the assets that Blizzard gives you. In a manner of speaking, WoW player housing is basically for people that are “builders” or sort of “creators” rather than just “consumers”.
It’s fair if you or any is a “consumer”, not everyone can be a “builder”.
There’s a fair amount of people that are very talented in making new worlds inside their houses or recreating zones, etc.
And this too.
