Trying to get Exalted with Darnassus

Greetings fellow adventureres,

When starting Classic I decided I want to ride a tiger as a human so I started my journey to try to get exalted with Darnassus.

Right now I’m almost revered, missing around 500 rep and I’m level 35. I still have a long way to Exalted and it feels like I’m doing something wrong.

As soon as I rolled my character, I ran all the way to Teldrassil and started questing there. I did all the quests in Teldrassil and Darnassus and moved on to darkshore. After Darkshore I went to ashenvale and for the exception of 1 quest which I still need to do (still green) I did all the rest. The BFD quests have all been done as well.

I headed to Stonetalon and did the quests there with the exception of one, which was a real pain, get smoldering embers from elementals. The drop rate was aweful and since I was doing this mostly alone I was getting ganked non-stop.

Since I felt that I was short on rep, I headed to duskwood and did most of the quest I could. I still have 1 pending but it shouldn’t be that important anyways.

And now I just starting levelling in Desolace, however I feel that I’m missing something since most of the ‘guides’ and ‘strategies’ I read pointed out that you could get exalted by the time you reach 40-44 and I’m around 21.5k away from achieving that goal.

It does feel like I did something wrong along the way however as far as I know I only let 2 quests become grey before completing them which meant getting less rep but we’re talking about 100-200 rep at most and I’m still far off from my goal. I also completed both a donation of wool and a donation of silk which both awarded me with 165 rep each (as human).

I m not sure this makes any difference but I did some gnomeragan and stockades quests and possibly some deadmines, however I never did any of the quests in places like westfall or redridge (only some elite quests).

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as I’m trying to limit myself from rushing to 60 with the aim to get exalted with Darnassus first. Maybe you can point out what my mistake was or perhaps I should be expecting to get more rep from certain zones like feralas?

I am doing quests in Feralas and have done all the NE quests in my level. I have Felwood left on my to do list.
I am 600/21.000 in revered. Dont forget cloth turnins the only way you can hit exalted before p2 is runecloth turn ins.

Are the Morrowgrain turn-ins not available?

Looks like you’re in a similar situation as me. I still can’t do runecloth turn ins at this level and I don’t even have the mageweave turn in quest (donation of mageweave) yet.

I still need to complete desolace before heading to Feralas.

I’m doing the same thing on my human and yes, I would agree I am not getting as much rep as advertised on the video guide. I don’t think I’ll be there by 40/5, I wonder if the rep gains on private servers were a bit skewed?

It’s not possible to reach exalted before level 50 when cloth turn-in becomes available. Those guides you’re reading are from private servers who use TBC rep values.

Buy a horse mount at 40, and at 60 turn in a bunch of cloth and get your fast Saber mount.

This makes me a bit sad but at the same time relieved since it helps knowing that I did not ruin the quest order that much.

Im at 1k/21k Exalted atm and iv’e done everything that’s involved with Darnassus rep since the start.

I was confused at start aswell, since i hit exalted at 41 on a pserver. I think they used the reputation-gains from 2.0 or something. I know that Blizzard bumped up the reputation gain later on.

Tho, i noticed that you gain the same reputation if the quest is green, and not yellow/orange on Wow Classic. That wasnt the case on pserver.

Thank you for all the feedback I’ll just keep doing the Darnassus quest where possible and aim at saving a lot of runecloth for turn ins unless there’s also other options?

Don’t forget Holiday Quests like Honoring the Hero of the Harvest Festival currently live, they tend to give Faction-wide Rep.

don’t you get splash rep for the other factions for doing quests?..
just checked this on my pally… a simple 27xp errand for SW gave me 6xp for IF etc…:slight_smile:

There are a few Darnassus quests in Azshara too. Not enough to get you 21k ofc, but it all helps.

What the guy said is true tho … U being revered at lvl 35 is alrdy a big accomplishment if u ask me :smiley: Just lvl up and when u can farm runecloth start turning it in … Its one of the only ways to get alot of rep

Youre actually doing really well)) For the first mount discount you need to be honored, thats it. Theres also a rank 3 pvp discount but we don’t have these yet. I myself am only honored with Stormwing and Ironforge and friendly with Darnassus( secretly dreaming about tiger mount, but too lazy to do their quests XD )

If this is the case that’s literally a game changer, as Splash Rep is how you did it during Wrath (which of course had non-detoriating-by-level-Rep-rewards but the basic mechanic stays the same) esp. with Gnomeregan Exiles.

You have another alternative to get a cat mount as a human but don’t want to grind darnassus rep: The winterspring frostsaber.

Still a heck of a grind though and you need to be 55+ I think for winterspring.

This is true, I noticed that after doing a stormwind rep quest or others I get some rep for darnassus, its usually a small amount but everything helps so my plan is to do darnassus quests when possible and at times travel to an appropiate level area and do some quests there as well. It does help with levelling anyways.

Quite right ye are, though you need to train tiger riding to be able to get your bum on to this beautiful tiger :slight_smile:

Which also means you have to hit exalted with the hipster elves.

I also noticed that I get tiny bits of rep increase when completing another alliance faction quests. And thought it was hallucinations due to sleep deprivation, but it turns out it’s not only me :smile:

I’m about 18k away from exalted, so looking at 500-600g worth of runecloth. Still I would rather have a slow tiger then a fast rattling robo chicken.
