Trying to raise a bug in-game takes you to US forums

Why doesn’t it take you straight to this forum when you simply want to report an in-game bug?

CS does not forward nor handle bug reports and therefore this place isn’t the place to report bugs but only through the ingame bug report button.

It goes to the same team, even the bug threads on the US forums.

The method for report bugs is a little different in the EU, as we do not have a bug forum. The reason for this is because the Developers and QA for World of Warcraft are in the US and are in a more position to investigate any bug reports submitted on the forum.

Submitting a bug in-game is just as effective, as it will still go to the Dev/QA Team, just be aware that you will not get a response to any bug you submit.

The (eventual) page you reach in-game has a large “Report a Bug” button. This takes you to the US forum. The gold-highlighted text in “If you want to report a bug please use the provided in-game systems to notify our development team directly” is tiny in comparison (which is why I missed it the first time around and clicked on the more obvious “report a bug” button).

However clicking on this link just leads to an out-of-date support article, saying:

  1. Click Help to open the Customer Support window
  2. Click Submit Bug etc

This method is NOT available anymore. Please could you check & report this to the Devs in the US, as, with the current options, European players are unable to raise bugs unless they create a US account (and level a character to level 10).

Just want to +1 this as I am stuck in game and am unable to report the bug for this exact reason!

ok that makes sense. but, despite a few minor spelling differences, they actually speak the same language in the US. so why exactly do we still (why did we ever at all?) have separate forums instead of all of the english-speaking players using the same forums?

Thank you. It is bad UI deign to mix and match this way. I’m obviously not the only one who missed it, (thinking it was just an illustration, not a link) and went to the “In-Game Issues” button.

Also support article seems to be updated (last updated 21 hours ago as of moment of writing).

I don’t agree that its a bad UI design, but it did take me a bit of careful looking to see where the submit a bug had gone to.

It does seem like change for the sake of change, there was nothing wrong with the old UI.
