Tusks of Mannoroth, how many attempts?

Hello!

So the past 3 weeks ive been running SoO HC lockout for Tusks, i have come to a point where i starting to doubt my descision and thinking it will never drop.

Im currently at : 1111 Attempts.

The reason why i put this out, is becuase i wonder how many attempts it actually took you guys who have it.

UPDATE#1

Will update the runs every 100 runs.

UPDATE#2

1217 attempts in no luck yet…

UPDATE #3

1300 attempts now, been off for 2 days just to farm some other things, ended up lucky getting green gul dan mount and midnight mount from legion.

Not sure, i wanted to get them a few months ago, but then i looked in my collections and they were there.

Think i’ve run that raid like under 10 times for some mogs.

I had them drop when it was current content and d/ed them having no idea they were going to be a rare item. Nor did transmog work like it does now, all my storage was overflowing with transmog.

I can’t remember how many attempts it took to go back and get them a second time. A friend seemed to have insane luck and didn’t want them, kept giving them away. He gave a pair to a friend then when we went to do a mount run he got them again and gave them to me.

I don’t keep track of how many times I’ve killed him but I hear he’s a really frustrating farm. Having said that I still don’t have the mount but the raid is too long so I’m looking forward to the skip they mentioned.

I dont have them, nor do i want them .

But ive heard many stories , and it happended to me too, that after a small break things drops faster.

Maybe its luck, maybe it works, but i remember getin like 2-3 raid mounts in month after a break .

Anyway, good luck, and keep your sanity up

How do you run a raid 1111 times in 3 weeks? Im just curious. Its legacy lockout working differently? Or you did that raid in the past and now you just picked up where you stopped?

I don’t think the drop rate is so atrocious (it’s not good obviously, but it’s not like Panda WB mounts & Big Love Rocket), but people farming it make it look so ‘crazy’ because they farm it without pause with the bonus loot tactics. This is the sole reason why people are seeing them after 1-2k attempts.

If you would pick 3-4 plate wearers, and took them through SOO HC & SOO M once per week, you would have a way higher chance rathen then running them on SOO HC with the lockout, using only bonus roll.

That’s some horrendous luck my friend. Personally, none of my friends have succeeded in dropping them, and most of them have played since SoO was current. I’m considering making an attempt to seriously get them myself. At the moment, through casual farming for other things such as the mount, I’m on about 60 attempts or so. Noobville compared to your attempts so I’d assume I’m still a ways off.

If you’re open to Addons, Rarity helps you track your runs and also tells you how lucky or unlucky you are compared to stats from other people/official drop rates, so if you want to see some proper odds, you should give it a shot!

Good luck in the rest of your runs, a Mag’har Warrior deserves his tusks!

You run a non plate toon on HC SoO, then procced to kill every boss besides garrosh 13/14 bosses defeated,

then you hearthstone out from raid, make a custom group, log out and login on a plate character, go in to custom groups, find that group and ask to join it, then log out from plate character and log back in to the character where you just made the group, accept it, then log back in to to the plate character and run in to SoO, kill garrosh, and when you enter a phase where he teleports you to a different location, leave group, then kill him and bonus roll, then rince repeat.

Ran heroic SOO every week during current, never saw tusks drop for our raid grp lol

Try 1218, that’s the magic number.

I wish… At 1219 as we writing.

They are not even that good, they look sooo stupid :grimacing:

I have them without even farming for them specifically, gotta consider myself lucky …

But I am cheering for you, I got headless horse only like half way through BFA after farming it for a decade  … absolutely feel with people going through these stupid droprates …

I understand you too!

Headless horse was my main thing, farmed it since TBC every GOD. DAMN. HALLOWEEN.

I got lucky in legion, think it was 2017 and the finally dropped after 9 years of trying.

Thanks for cheering

I took me only 15 tries. They dropped on HC.

I got them after 26 attempts and I know that is EXTREMELY lucky.

My other friend who wanted them did get ready for it… 5313 runs over like 2 entire expansions.

Its easy for me to sit here and say that I like drops being that rare because I got them obviously, but I wish they changed the definition of legendary, or made another category/item colour called like Iconic, and for items like tusks, kargaths bladefist, sylvanas’ bow, gorehowl etc that they had something like I dont know. 0.5% chance to drop. Not tusks low, which is admittedly almost non existant but like extremely low to the point where getting them isnt considered part of gearing but more just an added bonus. Give them BIS stats + 5% and an extra socket or something and make them extremely exciting to get as a drop.

Good luck with your runs though, hope you get them soon!

A friend of mine had to do 5413 runs, they are truly horrible drop chance haha.

Mine dropped under 500 tries so dont loose hope.
For me pets wasnt dropping from that raid.

Don’t give up
It took me around a year to have the warglaives from Illian… BOTH
Then sneak in to a TW run for the achivement to tarsmog it
It was a torture, not really enjobale… but have it

5413 runs??? oh god
