The first. And no it wouldnt. You would have a lot of the playerbase already having it and and army of boes because of people creating additional accounts for the sake of selling. Causing way more supply than demand.

Let it be gold, bitcoin , nft a share in the company those things are all valuabe because there are of limited supply, some of them you cant even touch but im sure you would get mad if their value dumps to 0. One person will play pokemoncards and have irl cards worth ton of cash and others will play wow, the thing is it does not matter if its a video game or not if ur ok with a company destroying something of value then its something wrong with you. of course blizz can do whatever what they want but not seeing a problem is the issue with you and thus makes you silly simple as. not seeing a problem here even tho they can do whatever the hell they want is just plain stupid from you. you will enjoy and item that only had value when it was rare, now you will have an item that everyone has and be happy with it?
