If Northrend is at the North pole, and clearly its climate is colder, then this means that the same mechanism that we have on earth happens there.
Namely, the earth axis of rotation is (approximately) perpendicular to its orbit around the sun. Thus the rays hitting the poles are almost parallel to the ground, giving less energy (as well as traversing more atmosphere).
In this case, I cant think of a reason why this wouldn’t happen in the south pole.
Regarding the seasons, there are seasonal events all over Azeroth (summer solstice etc), so it doesn’t make sense that ‘we visited pandaria only in summer’.
Like I said pandaria might not be at the south pole, and this is just a video game. Jesus…

They should increase the size of EK and Kalimdor in the map. They are supposed to be much bigger.
Many of these expansion landmasses are supposed to be much smaller in comparison.
