Or at least that was the intent of the writer.
So it wasn’t a parody after all. Glad I could reveal you some new Night Elf lore. May the cringe should never end!

first picture is now fanfiction and the second one was how it actually happened
which is good overall, I think…a bit more of “female power” returning to a race like Night Elves that was supposed to be quite matriarchal (or heavily female-focused anyway) in origin isn’t too bad I think
I think it was really good! I always considered it as Xavius mocking Malfurion and it felt like he did a good job.

Right yeah that was the intent the entire time yup. No other reason.
Stea
This is one of those moments where I really wonder what your fun is in annoying people who just don’t fit in with your fanboyism.
And later the writer even wrote:
4 Std.
Yeah. I did. I laugh about it now but it does represent a mistake I will never make again. And to some people it isn’t a mistake at all! So I’ll take it.
It’s no joke to people who just like to be jerks but then cry when something like this is done to their favorite race.
Always assumed that to be the case.
I honestly see no issue in having any character calling for help if its in need.
Regardless of whether its a he or a she.
And in said situation, Malfurion indeed needed said help. Honestly, i never had this feeling about it being as denigrating as some felt it was.
It is still normal Xavius who uses Malfurion illusions there. It’s not the original Malfurion, Stea rips it ruthlessly out of context.
It was not intended to be Xavius. People just presumed it was after the fact due to the poor directing.
I’ve been saying it was Malfurion for years now. Because I always expect the worst from Blizzard.
@Zahir Okay, and? Lore’s a community manager. The original tweet in the OP is from the person who actually wrote the lines.
she aggrees with him
you know…SHE, the writer, agrees with him
What I really dislike is when people take things out of context to upset other people.
And like I said, the author even said that it was a big mistake and that she will never do it again.
AFTER she’d already written the lines with the intent of it being Malfurion.
I was answering to the thread’s title.
Given the tweet, its obvious the writer wanted to have the character voice a similar concern as the one presented, and also have Xavius mirror said feeling repeatedly.
People grasped at it being entirely Xavius, because for some reason some felt that said portrayal was demeaning towards Malfurion. And as i said, i never understood exactly why would that be.
But yes, in the context, Malfurion calling for Tyrande’s help was very much true.
If you look at the time, Stea’s question came much later.
Okay…? I’m referring to when she wrote the dialogue. Not the tweet.
Honestly, you can imagine that, the real Malfurion is then in the dungeon and actually makes fun of Xavius all the time.
Who really thought that this was the real Malfurion can’t be helped anymore.
Sometimes I wonder why the WOW-Com promotes so much…stupidity and you really need everything in black and white…otherwise you argue for years about such a clear thing as it was presented there.
I cant tell who’s a bigger simp: Malfurion or Nathanos?
So… the person who wrote it?
She did not say - in any sentence - that it was the real Mlafurion. She even said that this was one of her biggest mistakes. She told Stea that she didn’t think his idea was so bad, and that it was better than SHE had imagined.
She specifically says that her intent was for the line to be all Malfurion, not Xavius. She’s referring to THAT being a mistake because that’s how she wrote it.
