Tyrande was mean to me!

Mass logging? Where?

As for the farmlands, you know that Night Elves are farming as well, right?

And they set up a system that punished about everything else. So that may have been a good system to keep themselves in check. They couldn’t deal responsibly with wielding magic and technology, like gnomes could, so they learned their place and kept away from it. nod

Tyrande was still quite impulsive and at times immature in WCIII, though.

War III, Daelin’s forces cutting down large forests in the ‘extra campaign featuring BM who shall not be named and Misha’. I could prob find some actual Alliance WoW logging mills if I went digging, but I think my point has been made.

Not on the same scale…and always with an eye towards keeping the balance. A twisted one at times perhaps but still.

They didn’t stop the Highborne from leaving if they disagreed. And it was well within their power to do so against the (badly diminished) Highborne following the Sundering.

That’s probably one of the highest levels of maturity - recognising that something is so dangerous and potentially addictive that it is banned.

Oh I’m sure Maiev is still sharpening her umbra crescent for the day that Tyrande goes too far…

Go back to the ashes, ugly gray elf. And be thankful that you’re even allowed into Stormwind.

Yes, master. Bows You will need our Navy once the KT fleet burns yes?

Keep dreaming. The Kul Tiran Fleet is legendary. It shall never burn. Kul Tiras suffers no rival!

We have to remind that the Nightborne supported Azshara 10.000 years ago so they where already hypocrites as they called for help. Did someone tell Liadrin this crap or why is she telling such lies?

As a base, there is nothing ‘bad’ for the Nightborne joining the Horde.

BUT! Before you blues start throwing torches and pitchforks, allow me to explain!

BUT they stopped there. They didn’t expand as to why Thalyssra decided to do this. And that is what is getting everyone’s goat about this issue, I think. Obscure decisions aren’t inherently bad, but when they have almost nothing beyond “Waah, Tyrande was meaan qq!” as explanation, then that’s just wasting a lot of potential.

Brandishes pitchfork

Fair enough, but that’s all we have to go on in the canon.

Ahhh didn’t you get the memo, sister? She’s called ‘Lying Liadrin’ now.

It’s not a bad idea by itself, a plausible reason IMO is for the nightborne’s and blood elves shared struggles.

But why would they take sides in a war after being helped in a rebellion, presumably a joint effort by both the Alliance and Horde.

They doesn’t expanded it but they showed it. It’s because Thalyssra just like a few Elves more on the other side but that’s all.

Yeah but she was cool. Why Blizz decided to say such lies or let it call “misinformations”. It’s bad for her character.

Because Blizz wanted to introduce Night Elves to the Horde and Blood Elves to the alliance. It’s simple as that.

Doylist (out-of-universe) reasoning, but plausible

But they didn’t.

The nightborne are the night elves of Suramar who fought the Legion in the great War of the Ancients to defend their home and close a second demonic portal using the Eye of Aman’thul that would have overtaken and outflanked the resistance forces led by Kur’talos Ravencrest and Malfurion Stormrage to stop Queen Azshara.

Not to liberate them, but to save their bacon and help them achieve the goal they had for millenia.

Well, yes, they cut up on information regarding that too.

Which is why I am a BIG supporter of individual short-stories made official by Blizzard’s storywriters. I want to know WHY these allied races made their decisions beyond just us discussing speculations.

I thought I was already annoyed that Blizzard did not expand on the Living Qiraji and the Sundered Temple back in Wotlk, but this Allied Races thing just one-ups that.

They closed a portal. Wow! Such support.

Still not a questline that spanned multiple weeks, still not a raid and two dungeons themed after them, still not an entire zone themed after them.

Imagine it. Kul Tiran fleet is gone and Anduin has to crawl back to Tyrande and beg her to have the nightelf fleet used for making landfall in Nazjatar? Human potential serverly damaged.

Imagine thinking that that will happen.

-2 Factions to get to exalted (one of them is them)
-3 full zones with quests for them
-A questing and world-quest experience being the main-content for 4 Months, spanning from End of August 2017 (release of 7.3) to end of January 2018 (release of 7.3.5, opening of Antorus) including the Triumvirate dungeon
-Raid themed around helping them storm the fortress at the End of it.
(all NPCs inside Antorus are Lightforged)

So yes, everything you just listed.
