Ulduar HM cleared in 78 minutes

What?!

Welcome to … games? LOL

I mean, imaging wanting to finish a raid, only to find out that half your dps’s are running meme specs and you keep failing and failing and hours wasted because … you wanna go in “blind”. THAT is sad, lol.

Why is it lol ? You can learn from books and other material or you can learn from your mistakes. Some people prefer to play and find all the stuff by themselves. I am not saying that it is optimal or good to be doing this in world of warcraft.

From my experience, I enjoyed the game more when everyone was clueless. The achievement of downing a boss was a thrilling event. Nowadays the most thrilling stuff about wotlk is loot.

This all shifted when wow became a regular job for many players. It divided the community even more. Again, not saying that it is good or bad. It is just different approach comming from desire to finish the game rather than enjoy the game. Just saying, do whatever makes you happy in-game.

You already missed that one … some guys lost realm first on malygos when stupid anticheat booted them out when mount phase came up xD

Did you finish Ulduar HM in 78 minutes? Now this is the question

I doubt PTR is even needed.

back in the old days took me and my guild about 78 minutes just to have everyone at the entrance of the raid. good times.

Dont forget they are doing it in T7 … in week or two when people start swimming in emblems, BoEs from profs, free T8 gear from VoA etc etc … not to mention 10m ulduar was cakewalk on PTR even with hardmodes, it will become significantly easier …

Yeah, most guilds and pugs wont probably clear HM25 this lockout or maybe even the next one … but in a month it will be same snooze fest like naxx whether you like it or not …

All this talk about super hard stuff, about “prenerf”-prenerfs, this stupid ILvL change that messed up more things that it actually helped, just to make ulduar “relevant” was completely pointless …

When ToC drops, outside of valanyr farmers, people will instantly forget Ulduar even existed …

and noone saw that coming …

PS: not to mention when pugs start doing hard modes, there will be 65713541 posts crying about nerfs and blizz will bend over again …
Look at the Curve achiev, it states specifically that you killed it in “pre-nerf state”, that sounds mighty suspicious to me, as if they were planning to nerf whole ulduar after a month …

It might come as a surprise to you, but a lot of people don’t do meta gamer crap, which is akin to just following a walkthrough - god I just remembered speaking to someone in game levelling up and they wouldn’t do a quest with me because they were following a guide :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Meme specs? Hours wasted? I need to remember this feedback forum is for all nearly all ages.

This is exactly the essence of what gaming is, playing it for fun and not to look up guides etc just because they’re there. If players are just looking at all the best tactics and know what to do, what on earth is the point in even spending hours in a raid…it baffles me, other than just trying to clear it before another guild, or just to get gear or whatever, which also baffles me, other than being mindlessly competitive and most know what those people are like at parties.

Gaming suffers greatly from those people. The difference between actual gamers and meta gamers is actual gamers actually play the game as intended or as much as they can, and meta gamers look at a website to see how to play the game instead of trying - again, I just don’t know what the point is. Me and some friends did what would be seen as meta gamer stuff when we were about 12 or 13 years old because we were children and wanted to finish before our friends or to seem better for our rep, the now childish adults seem to have arrested development in that area.

Makes you wonder why they treat wow like a job…

Well, this isn’t Vanilla. You cannot … unlearn stuff. This is Classic. To give you a taste of what Vanilla was.

Of course it was amazing back in the days when we didn’t know this much stuff. But, now we do and acting like “Hey, I wanna learn from mistakes” isn’t plausible, sorry.

I absolutely agree, the mindset is very, very different. Even the taste does not match, only the packaging is kinda familiar.
And because of all of this ( and more ), I do not find clearing Ulduar nowadays as some kind of meaningful or presentable achievement

B-but… HOW? How best of the best players having every possible data about the game did content so fast!?

They’re just too good…at using the internet.

There are 3 certainties in life:

  • Death
  • Taxes
  • Retail players flooding Classic forums after handful of guilds clears any piece of content on release.

Hey Goreal, if you keep repeating it long enough, maybe it will become true?
This is WotLK Classic Discussion forum, please stop incorrectly labelling it “feedback forum” just because the GM’s copypaste response has a line about coming here to give feedback.
US forum has a Bug Report subsection that can possibly be construed to be “feedback” adjecent, but EU does not. Stop embarrassing yourself, it won’t catch on.

I said this to you before, and I’ll say it again. Real people at Blizzard refer to this as feedback forums. Submitting feedback via Give Feedback with the game UI directs you here. If you think one word in this forum title changes that, then that’s on you, but they are feedback forums whether you agree or not.

 dunno about the taxes though, I always felt you could just go homeless and not pay at all!

vat or anything similar, I doubt you can go without buying stuff in stores.
I just did a couple of bosses but it felt easier then back in the day.

What a crappy boomer take.
You’re basically saying no one enjoys the game.

Or maybe they don’t care about retail because they enjoy playing Wotlk. Just a thought… people play games they like, and try to be the best version of themselves when they play it.
