Under Development: WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria

Limited time events are great to be honest. They can be really experimental because they don’t need to stand the test of time. Its also important that they don’t have to support this game mode for eternity. Instead they can start thinking about the next cool event. Because of their limited time nature they are usually filled with active players and end before things get boring and interest is waining.

Look at timewalking events in wow. If you could do all of the timewalking dungeons at any time you wouldn’t find any players to do them with. Because players would already be bored with them, have everything farmed and most people would only play the “best ones”. (whatever that means to them). Having Timewalking events be a temporary thing ensures that a lot of players are funneled in to the event and have a good time.

I understand that you probably don’t like timed events. But they are not objectively a bad thing.

The pace and direction makes it seem they are about to come out with a path of exile x wow hybrid game next year, just testing stuff now.

All these off class skills usable on anyone? Skill gem sockets?
Limited time events, you mean leagues?
Completely new giant POE skill tree wouldn’t surprise me.

Omg this looks just perfect for me and my guild we will be all over this I can’t wait.

Why ? This is such a weird take if you ask me. Its like saying the price of the expansion should go down because Wow Classic or Hearthstone exists.

Don’t get me wrong i take a cheaper expansion. But i don’t understand your take at all.

Should TBC have been a cheeper Expansion because you couldn’t play a blood elf / draenai on your main without buying a race change ?

Should Wotlk have been a cheeper Expansion because you couldn’t play a Death Knight while being a Mage main ?

Should cataclysm have been a cheeper expansion because you didn’t need the newest expansion to experience the reworked world content?

Should Warlords have been a cheeper expansion because you didn’t need the newest Expansion to experience the updated Charactermodels?

Im not trying to be annoying here. To me (opinion) those things are the same as fun modes like plunderstorm or this new thing. Wow has always been best when you played more then one character. Mage Tower challenges, Legion Campaigns, playing multiple roles without missing out on loot, class or race specific cosmetics like heritage armor and their unlock quests, class specific legendaries, … .
One major selling point of TWW within is Warbands (i think thats what they are called) where more focus is put on your account and less on the individual characters.

To me this sounds a bit like seasons in Diablo 3 where you could play fresh character with a different set of rules and new items which would later be converted to a normal character. If anything this sounds like a great way to level a new character for the next expansion and an easy way to save a character boost.

Sry for the wall of text. Maybe you can explain to me how this devalues the next expansion in your eyes.

I have somewhat…mixed feelings. On one hand,I adore Pandaria,I really like the zones, the atmosphere,so that is good. On the other hand, after Idioticstorm,I’m not confident that this will be good.I mean, another limited time event…?At least,if I read it correctly,I can keep my “remix” character…That is kinda good, too…I just…have a bad feeling about this.

Seems like PTR is not up for europe yet. Maybe we need to wait until after maintenance. But this is just an assumption.

Interesting idea. Looking forward to checking it out.

… when

I’m gonna check this out. My favorite expansion with my favorite class and then some. I’'m excited about this and hope to get everything it offers.

Looks great and I will give it an honest try.

But for… the… love… of… GOD…

WHERE… IS… RETAIL… CLASS… TUNING…

I cant stress this enough : “Special events” are NOT worth neglecting Retail. It does not matter how good they are.

So don’t loose sight of what you already have. Common… M+ has 1.5 weekly dungeon runs. Not including failed runs.

So… dont… forget… US… PLEASE…

Uhh… sounds… fine? Most of the stuff here is just Timewalking with extras.

I also don’t really think this should be time limited, really. I think having these kinds of “old expansion communities” that hang around in different expansions or continents would be good for the game in general.

The scaling’s still here so we’re not doing much restoration to MoP, however I do really like Mists of Pandaria’s zones, so I’m in.

PS: New Pandaren character models when? Like, seriously. They are really outdated by now.

TBC time-expansion when?

If this is a success I imagine it’ll probably happen, but when? No idea.

If we get MoP demonology or the Challenge mode lock set, i will be all over this. Now that SoD felt from grace, it’s the perfect timing.

They aren’t going to tune anything now, Season 3 is about to end.

i think everyone asked for this, everyone wanted remade old raids for retail instead of fated raids. and this is literally the raid that everyone has been asking for throne of thunder.

S4 is about to begin and I don’t see anything. Not on the PTR, not a single coment about S4. No pre-season 4 tuning in preparation for S4…

Not even a comment on “hey, we listen. Were working on THIS, but we will show it later”… Its the least they could do for 4 months of NOTHING…

There are people that have tried out specs in the PTR that, according to what they tell me, appear to be OP in the Exodia level of OP.

And even through Blizz get feedback, I still dont see any reaction from their part. And they already ruined S2 for me. So I expect that atleast they dont ruin S4 as well.

I mean its on the roadmap for retail because it releases together with the patch. And this is not a lie. The 20th Anniversary Event is also on the road map and you probably don’t need the latest expansion to take part in it.

And many wow features were part of an expansion lifecycle but you didn’t need the expansion to play it. (Graphics Revamp in Warlords, new Talent Trees in Cataclysm/ MoP/ Dragonflight, any form of class updates, world revamp in cataclysm, chromie time, Dungeonfinder, LFR, Achievements, New Professions, …)
This is not a new thing.

And its not fully disconnected from Retail either because you get transmog, mounts and now even a new way to level alts. If anything this looks like a revamp of chrome time or a trial for a new leveling system.
