Yep i’m completely saying that, their architecture and code is probably so neolithic the structure english is on a stone and tablet, they probably have 2 states for a server locked/unlocked.
Wrong, none of the servers that got locked for transfers yesterday are in the locked state. Locked state defines the ability to create new characters on a server (source: Brian Birmingham), and has nothing to do with transfers. This means they have several custom states, and im 99% sure they could add a requirement of having a 70 character on the server to transfer. However, the allowance of character creation and now instant lvl 70 boost has ruined the authenticity of this. Every new problem showing up recently is Blizzard made, almost comical.
regardless of this it ain’t being unlocked, if anything it’s staying locked for even longer if the blue post is anything to go by.
You have three choices :
cancel your sub
roll fresh
pay to move to Earthshaker
I have four choices.
4: Keep playing any of my 5 level 70 characters on Firemaw.
I don’t get how it’s so hard to grasp that most of us just want an alt over. We are already playing on Firemaw. The queues will not be affected.

I’m fully aware that you want to play your alts with your main Character on the same server, this isn’t an option on firemaw, you’ll have to do paid transfer somwhere else if you want to be one big happy dysfunctional lvl 70 family .
The option is being requested here in this thread, it is it’s sole purpose. Kindly F off somewhere else if you don’t have anything useful to come with related to the topic.

Yeah because bumping this with #OpenFiremawTransfers is conductive to the discussion as well right? pretty sure that’s against the ToS for these forums.

Honestly I just think Blizzard have no idea what to do with the Firemaw/Gehennas megaserver situation.
Making a good decision for us players while still benefiting financially.
In their eyes I guess doing nothing is better then doing something wrong.
They are soing something, just possibly not a good thing. Free Transfers off are open after all.
i was going to transfer to pyrewood since firemaw they closed it but they closed pyrewood aswell, now all the other alliance servers compared to them are dead

As of September 2nd, Firemaw has been locked for 102 days.
At least you can transfer off Firemaw now to Mograine, of which has 20 active raiders. That’s what the community wanted, right?

“I thought I have reached the peak of my anger in blizzard at the beginning of TBC, but I was wrong. For whatever reason I thought it was a good idea to try Wrath classic out…but I was very wrong. I guess tomorrow I will earn back the money lost on this…stupid idea. So here is the problem: I have not really played since classic/early TBC. My character is in classic gear, locked in Gehennas alliance… I saw one more gnome somewhere in Stormwind, but that is pretty much it. I tried to transfer away, and yes, that is not an issue but a couple more hours of working tomorrow…except that I can’t. I can’t transfer to any servers with a sufficient alliance population, and I have an option to tranfer for free to…Mograine? 5 alliance? I guess that is an improvement. I am not completely sure what Blizzard wants to achieve, but I for sure won’t level up another character. Seriously, I want to play the game, and be able to transfer to a server where there are enough of my faction to form a raid or a premade, you know. The failures of your community management should not be paid by me. Then again, just take my money please, I want to be out of this server. Just accept that its 3-4 megaservers.”
Image if Blizzard lets you transfer to Firemaw. That day the server would be in petty state Gehennas is right now and the very people asking to let em in would demand a solution to Blizzard created problem, blame Blizzard for corporate greed and incompetence and quit playing because of “bad service”. “You think you do want to transfer to Firemaw, but you don’t”.

Let’s be honest, I wanted to transfer to Firemaw like 3 months ago to enjoy the last TBC days. You could’ve milked me for 2x paid transfers.

I actually am perfectly capable of knowing what I want, and I am quite surprised Blizzard treats me like a child with endless time. Neither of those are the case (although I am neither a dad nor a mom). I could, possibly, transfer to Earthshaker (and those two are the only servers with alliance pop) - unless its locked as well ofc - but I know no-one there, and that obviously is an issue if you are somewhat older than a teenager and have no endless time.
Dear Kaivax, how am I supposed to play my alliance character stuck on Gehennas if - as of today - I can’t even select paid transfer, and the only free option is Mograine with no alliance players on? Can we at least get a transfer to servers with alliance? No matter what “bonuses” you give to the “minority faction”, people prefer to play this game socially. Can I get a clear answer about what will be done with these stuck characters, or can I just give up today? It might be an option to horde players to move to smaller realm, but you cannot ignore that this is a two-faction game, for good or ill. There are practically only two alliance pvp realms at the moment.

Please unlock either pyrewood or firemaw, I have friends on both servers but all my characters have been moved to Mograine. This is ridiculous.
