So I want to go on a bit of a rant here, because I’m seriously disappointed in how unlocking allied races is handled in the current iteration of the game.
I’ve recently came back to the game after not playing for the previous two expansions. I’m really liking the new content. However, not having all races available to play bothers me. So while levelling my new character (the one I’m posting with now) I decided to go through all the BfA content to unlock Kul Tirans and eventually move on to Mechagnomes and Dark Irons. I’ve got the “A Nation United” achievement. I’ve sat through a cutscene where Anduin literally welcomes the Kul Tirans into the Alliance fold. Yet I can’t make one because I haven’t progressed far enough in the BfA war campaign.
Alright, I thought. I’ll get started. I completed the initial stages of the “Ready for War” achievement, establishing the footholds, very easy. Then I hit a roadblock. I can’t progress any further in the war campaign now because my reputation with the 7th Legion is too low and they won’t give me the quests I need to continue. Okay that’s a bit of a pain, but I’ll start working on the rep, I thought. Except it turns out that I can’t. Increasing reputation with the 7th Legion is chiefly achieved through world quests which are no longer available in Zuldazar. So that’s out. You can get rep through doing island expeditions, except the only way to do that content is to queue for it. And no one is queuing for depreciated content. So that’s out too. The only options I have to get my 7th Legion rep from friendly all the way to revered are the BfA mission table and a single set of dailies in Boralus which simply involve handing over gold or resources. Each gives 150 rep. That’s it.
This is going to take months. Literally months. All just to unlock a race from an expansion that came out 4 years ago. What the [Removed] is the thought process behind this? Did Blizzard just collectively forget that the allied races existed? Did they think that new/returning players wouldn’t want them? This makes the quest to get Sulfuras back in Vanilla look like a cakewalk in comparison. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
TL;DR: Unlock requirements for allied races are a [Removed] joke and completely disrespectful to your time and enjoyment of the game.
You really can’t complain to be honest - it used to be a lot worse. You don’t have to farm all those reputations to exalted anymore, be glad they removed it.
I mean, I agree it’s still annoying, but at least they made it less painful.
“It used to be reaaaaally sht. Now it’s just sht. You should be grateful.” Do you seriously think that’s good enough? I’m not surprised the playerbase fell off a cliff in BfA if this is what’s considered as passable. But maybe you just like the idea of your race being such a pain in the backside to unlock that no one bothers doing it anymore. That would make you a very special boy.
Those reputations were farmed for various reasons and not just for allied races. They should make allied races simply available by default as they are ‘not a thing’ anymore.
Have a look at this, probably you just need to complete the main bfa campaign of the .0 patch, that is, going through drustvar, stormsong valley and tiragarde sound main quests
Well, you know Blizzard. So yes, you have to be glad they at least removed the reputation. Just look at BFA pathfinder… it’s still there and it’s still a pain in the…
Like I stated in the OP. I have done all of them to completion. I have the “A Nation United” achievement. That includes completing Loremaster of Kul Tiras and The Pride of Kul Tiras quest chain.
Hmmmm I’m going to check on my bfa character later today and report back, but I’m pretty sure they should still be there. It sounds more like a bug to me, maybe you’re stuck somewhere without world quests unlocked!
I have plenty of world quests in Zuldazar by the way. You probably missed something to unlock them.
Anyway, I agree they should be unlocked from the start. Probably won’t happen, so at least they removed the exalted reputations which was the real pain.
Ok I’ve checked, they still exist to me: https://ibb.co/JqxPCsy
So it could either be the case described by Chronormi or something else, but you should have them! You could try and file a ticket to a GM for help, they usually reply quite fast!
Makes no sense that they’re not part of the base game anymore. Having to grind out annoying parts of the game to actually start the game as the race you want to play must be a great first impression.
