Unpopular Opinions

Is their population that small?
I can understand it for void elves, but LFD seem more numerous, being an Army and all.

Well, initially, during the LFD unlock, we are told that it’s only a handful of their army(not the entire Army of the Light) that joins the Alliance.

But in BfA itself, we see them everywhere using all of their tools & weaponry and have Turalyon aswell.

It’s also confirmed normal draenei can change up, if committed and strong enough. Unlike void elves.

And soon we’ll get Lightforged Orcs!

All races should be able to Lightforge. Especially Tauren sunwalkers.

Uniformity under the Light is only a good thing.

Elune was a Naaru all along, so was the Earthmother & the suns.

Edit: Rezan was also a Naaru, in disguise.

Somehow, I can’t see there being a huge number of LFD to begin with.

Considering LFD are already the splinter group of a splinter group (regular Draenei being a minority of the Eredar, iirc), combined with the difficulty and dedication required to become Lightforged and the losses sustained in their millenia-long war against the Legion - all for a race that is likely to reproduce rather slowly - I really doubt LFD are a numerous group to begin with.

I’d much rather see them as an elite unit of highly-skilled soldiers than standard issue troops.

Dinosaaru?

It also kinda removes their punch/impact in the lore to make them bog-standard soldiers that get moved down by one goblin boi.

How did they survive a millenia war on the Legion Homeworld again if this is the case?

You know this is coming though, sooner or later.

Lightforged should not have been a playable race imho. They should have immediately moved on to combat the next big threat (the void).

Or certainly not join with a faction that houses Void Elves.

I don’t really like LFD. I guess that will be my unpopular opinion.

I never felt that they added something that we didn’t already have in draenei, and while their visuals are certainly nice, they are basically just mooching on a race theme we’ve had since TBC.

One could argue that this is a theme with the Allied Races overall, but LFD are by far the worst offenders in my books. Even Highmountain tauren and void elves try to add something different (with varying degrees of success), but LFD are just draenei. But better. Because we’re told so.

Would actually be interesting to see the LF Draenei meet the AU Draenei just to see if they’re like “Hey, we’re the same thing” or if they would come into conflict.

In the eyes of the Lightbound, LFD are inferior Light worshippers and must be purged, obviously.
watches in horror as an army of Lightbound screaming “NAARU VULT” charges down the hill

On topic:
I really, really want at least one more playable faction in WoW. One that is independent from both Alliance and Horde and actually has its own, self-contained storyline and role in the overarching theme. Any race can join this faction if they prove to be sufficiently skilled and loyal.

Relations with the Horde and Alliance could really go either way, from neutral to trade partnership to hostilities.

God, that’d be great…

Edit to add: Alternatively, being able to renounce your allegiance to either Horde or Alliance and join a pre-existing neutral faction, like the Argent Crusade or the Cenarion Circle would be nice as well.
As long as you give said factions actually something to do, that is.

A wildcard 3rd faction would be great!
