i think when people say its bad they are talking about the dice of azeroth the heavy rng system alone. Because from that point of view i think bfa was mostly really good all themes were unique in their own way from azshara Eternal palace to mechagon, kultiras(in my case) with 3 very unique regions specially drustvar, and corruption in uldum/padaland, we didnt get actualy zone of nyalotha(i heard its an actual zone) but as raid it stood out very well.

But after Legion and WoD/Pandaria Blizz managed to wrote themselves in the corner
After the world shattering/changing event that finally united the two faction to save the world and opened up the universe (Felhammer is a dimansional ship, just Legion-tech; the vindicaar, Telogrus, the Dreadscar, and so on…) suddenly focusing to a little part of an insignificant island/mini-continent (more like a big island really) where some witches charmed some peasants/woodcutters seemed… silly
Especially if you take the fact, there was/is a huge sword stabbed to the bleeding planet… and we made war over it; the blood I mean
BfA story was great… but just as a seperate thing, not inserted in after Legion and before Shadowlands (that turns upside down the whole afterlife and belife system)
what? that could happen as planetary problems, its not like a huge hole in the sky open up and now noone can die and the veil of life and death got shattered! its just planetary problems bro!

Sure, could happen, but immagine, not RP and such- but following the narrative and storyline. You and your buddies just came back from the other end of the universe, from the Eredar/Draenei Homewolrd, where you and the gang choked the Legion leadership to its own blood, killed a world soul and helped to imprison antoher, met the friggin Titans themselves and saved your planet…
…and came home to realise, your world is dying, bleeding thanks to that sword - a sword you eventually syphon with others of its power
And after you fought alongside and worked alongside each other, united in Dalaran (and actually the whole world, the pre-patch legion invasions was everywhere) - not counting that insane old wolf and the udnead chick who insisted to fight over some abandoned Watcher Towers… - you sent to deal this thing
And now neck deep in a totally pointless war
Now I’m not saying little local problems are not important, or such thing, no… they are!
But not something you necesarry notice, after murdering your way up to Sargeras in the heart of Hell itself…
Or care really what that brat and his wolf stepdad or the undead chick and zombie lover babbling about
BfA story was awesome, really… but not in the narrative line what happened and where you found yourself
Designing the game with the competitive aspects in mind (mostly MDI and 3vs3 arenas, raids not as much) hurts the overall experience for the majority of players. Early Legion m+ was fun, the dungeons made later into the expac and the ones from BfA were not because the intention was to make them suitable for MDI, more so than making them enjoyable for most. Random BGs and world pvp (which I believe should be THE PvP thing in WoW) suffer from all the balancing being done around the arena format too.

haha i get what you mean i was just pointing out how wow does often like casually changimg the pace of the story from almost god problems to pirate problems(like you said) and i said from pirate problems to life and death balance problems. lately blizzard is a bit lost or everywhere. not sure if good or bad, but hey dk is relevante to the lore again! people wanted!

And they were made to… protect Bolvar from Sylvanas or counter Sylvanas?
As per the SL cinematic, they failed in a big time
And if their job was to “protect the living” well… let’s say the Deth Knights already regreted for asking more spotlight
