We still do unrestricted every week and it’s been our main type of rp as of late.

If you have enough interested on your side we can organize some events , contact me on discord or in game

(Search for Battlegroup Misery on the forum for more info)

Can’t wait to type my emote as i focus on doing my breath rotation and not getting one shotted…
Unrestricted “”"“rp”""" pvp only works under very specific conditions. It’s very fun when it happens but you gotta admit that unless you’re ranged in a tarren mill vs southshore scenario, the rp may be minimal.

What’re you emoting that isn’t represented by your abilities?

My cross spec spells ?
Or i am simply not breathing every 2 mins ?

God you just reminded me of that time Lilynore insinuated that if you don’t RP your character breathing you are a terrible RPer to justify ERP.

jokes on them, Elly’s undead so he doesn’t need to breathe. DK Greatest Class once again.

I don’t understand the second question.

explained easily i think

Why do you need to emote your rotation for breath of sindragosa?

You very well know what he meant. lol

Either way, I find unrestricted PVP to be great in smaller scale actions. But not for long.

I actually, sincerely, do not.

Same here. Is the idea that he’ll emote not using his Breath as often IC as he does as part of his rotation?

Pretty much Valdanyr. The amount of ooc power we have is often not equivalent to the ic power we wield so i find it sometimes a bit strange. It’s very enjoyable but it doesn’t realyl feel “rp” sometimes.

The best RP-PvP campaigns are unrestricted imo. First of all, the outcome is more likely to feel a challenge. The fighting feels real, against real enemies. You have more resources to display fights, letting your character go full out through tactical manouvers, ambushes, positioning and so forth. Unlike in restricted where you have to cast frostbolts every five seconds, almost all your damaging spells are not allowed, and God forbid the rage that follows if you have icicles damaging two targets instead of one. Other than that, I’ve seen a lot of drama for small things in restricted: people just complain about everything. This guy did more damage than average? He must be a cheater! Let’s spend 20 minutes stalking him to find if he casts a chaosbolt or an execute!

At the end of unrestricted, you can also kind of interpret freely what happened. You use game mechanics to your advantage. Your character got killed by a rogue? Well, perhaps he has reported a deep wound and needs urgent healing. You can even make up a small story about that rogue who fought against you. And so on.

What I’m saying is; unrestricted rewards creativity, restricted does not and usually revolves around fairly predictable or pre-established outcomes.

Did you take part in alliance rp pvp ? With Horde Ilvl being heroic/above and Alliance being LFR from 8.1, i can tell you it can be a challenge hahaha

I’m speaking of pre-BFA experiences tbh. Never participated in any alliance RP-PvP after Legion.

Yeah, I hated when people gave me stick for using the axe from ICC even though it was a perfect rune-weapon - just because you had to use Gleaming Broadsword of the Wolf for your RP weapon doesn’t mean I have to okay

((this is pre-transmog of course))
