Shadowsight buff appears after 1.5 mins of combat. The pillars should get similarly removed at specific timer. Some classes abuse these pillars to the max, making it very difficult to deal any kind of damage to them.
By removing stealth advantage and pillar advantage, people would be motivated to start the fight soon instead of this pillar humping for the first 3 minutes. Knowing that this advantage will get removed at a specific timer would put some spring into peoples steps, and overall make arenas more fair.
At worse, the only thing that is missing in Arenas is the Benny Hill Show background music when you have to chase these people around the poles.
EDIT:
An alternative way to stop pillar abuse could be special debuffs or new weather related conditions in the Arenas.
Winter Arena, a slippery ice covers the area around the poles because the area has been abused so much with warm feet. The ice would have a chance to cause the player to fall down and possibly stun themselves for 2 seconds. The chances of slipping over and getting stunned goes higher the longer player spends time near the poles. The debuff would have stacks to indiciate the odds of slipping over and getting stunned, debuff lasts 10 seconds.
Heavy Rain has made the areas around poles especially muddy. Humping the pole too long and too hard would cause the pillar abusers movement to slow down to 50% and the chance to get immobilized in the muddy area would increase the more time the player spends on the muddy area. The debuff would last 10 secs and would stack 5 times. For example, 10% slow 5% immobilize 1/5; 20% slow 10% immobilize 2/5 and so on.
In order to avoid stacking these debuffs the player would have to clearly exit the debuff area.

Good idea.
I will vote for it
Interesting point, would be really nice
They atleast need to do something to prevent the 1 hour + games

The rise of the caster cleaves. What a fun meta.
No thanks. Rather have RMP all over the place.
They should also make the arena smaller, like 3 yards across. This would stop the abuse of unfair movement abilities like blink or sprint.

I think interrupts should be disallowed in arenas, it’s very annoying not being able to get my spells off whenever I want, wherever I want.

Easy solution: delete resilience from the game. No more snore fests in arena.

I think for beyondo need to make a separate game where he can create and change everything you want.

I agree, only if caster spells range will reduce to 5 yards also.
play a comp that can kill faster?
funny how none of u make a counter argument addressing his point about anti stealth mechanic
i don’t like italians either but he makes a good point
Cause the game is balanced around being able to los casters and kite meele around pillars. If you are caught in the open vs frost mage/spriest/resto shaman. You are dead.
Well, you’ll get orgrimmar arena in less than a year most likely
stealth classes are balanced around having the opening move, yet an anti stealth mechanic to prevent proloning games is in place.
u think dampening is a better fix?
And they still get the opener. Not really the same thing. Apples and oranges yada yada.
so why should reseting with stealth be prevented but not pillars?
Cause you have to move and pick them up. The fairer comparsion on how broken it would be. Stealth classes auto stealth in combat every 10 sec. Now imagine fighting against that. That is how broken removing pillars would be.
Im trying to be nice to you and explain. Anyone past 2k rating would say what a dumb idea this is.
Also the stealth detection eyes were put in cause some 2v2 rogues thought it was fun to stealth around just hiding for hours until the other team left. Some reached gladiator doing this so blizzars had to put something in.
yet we still have games that last hours, just not vs double rogue. the problem op is describing is still there and he is suggesting a fix. dampening would be another solution to the same problem
Those games are things like warlock resto druid mirrors. If you really hate long games an easy solution is just dont play that kind of comp. Even with pillars gone the game would still take hours due to how the comp works.
There exists a solution to one scenario (double rogue) why couldn’t the solution there be to only play something that can deal with double rogue? Like play human if you don’t like fighting em for hours.
Games ending up healer vs healer isn’t super rare either.
