Because you do not fix everything, you should fix nothing. OK. The Classic forum is being smart again.
I think it is important to understand that Classic is NOT vanilla, and changes are necessary to accomodate for a modern player base.
Or do you think that in vanilla everyone and their grandmother had cleared BWL within 1.5 hours because they all capped out on their buff slots? Get a grip…
Give me functional retri paladin spec then. It was ok to play ret in vanilla, but for modern playerbase with their 31337 tryhard mentality it’s “holy or GTFO”.
used to be the same for shaman, but i have only experienced raid rejection once so far, and that was because my previous guild forced all meme specs to spec into healing.
druids = resto
shaman = resto
priest = holy
kinda said screw em’ when i learned this was the case, joined another guild, and nobody so far has had a problem with me playing enhancement. sure i get the occasional “lul meme spec” comment from strangers and friendly guildies bantering for the sake of banter, but that makes it funnier to out-do people on dps meters, rankings and parses.
don’t know if this is achievable as paladin though, as retribution seems much lackier than enhancement even with hard dedication like full world buffs, consumables and top tier gear.
According to warcraftlogs, 90% parsing cats do more dps than 90% parsing mages, locks or hunters. Just below warriors and rogues. And mages don’t bring a combat rez or a crit aura.
Cats are indeed 3rd best dps right now. But that’s gonna change next phase where they’ll be fifth, only above hunters and meme specs. And worse still in Naxx where they fall further behind.
As for rets being accepted in vanilla, I rememeber in one of my first MCs in later half of 2005, we had one ret in the raid and the entire vent chat was joking about how terrible he is including himself. He was holy every raid thereafter up to Huhuran when TBC hit.
that is boss only. locks are among the best utiltiy classes. CR is not a good utility in classic. Druid utility peaks at 1 druid and that is from faerie fire.
