Descendants of the San’layn and offspring of Blood-Queen Lana’thel, These newly bred vampires broke free from the scourge and seetled in an isle west of northrend. Many fell from this curse and couldint bear themself to drink blood. They fled across the seas, but the bloodlust remained, and they fell into madness, reverting to their true nature as rabid predators. These creatures, once “human”, now feasted on the living, raving with unending hunger.

In time these feral vampires came to be known as the Sorrows, and are still roaming the island. Whilst the others learned in time to control their hunger for blood, and they were called Vampyre. These cursed Sorrows were never able to overcome it and became the voracious, cannibalistic beasts that remain today. The Sorrows are fierce beyond measure and will attack anything within reach.

The vampyres split into three houses:
House of Shandril - A young house of the vampires, now led by Lady Shandril. This house has managed to master the art of blood-feeding without killing their prey and can now feed on animals or dead bodies instead of living prey and as such have grown rapidly in numbers. They are also responsible for the Discovery to use blood as a healing art and are therefore responsible for the creation of the alchemy system of blood magic which allows the user to drain the energy of any object or creature and preserve it.

The house of Xymnar - Formerly one of the largest houses, led by Lord Xymnar. The family holds value thier royal blood and sees half bleeds as a disgrace and are often on a mission to hunt them down. They are known for their ability to manipulate the mind of the enemy and thier excellence in sword fighting makes them feared throughout the land by all who oppose them. They are the only house that fights mainly with swords and looks down upon vampires that fights with thier claws and consider that ferocious and primitive.

The House of Silun - Founded by a priestess who mated with the wild Sorrows, which created the halfbreed called Strigoi, which are creatures that carry the strength of the sorrows but have the intelligence as the other vampires. The house is lead by Lady Silun and her daughter, Phaedra. They are well known for thier shapeshifting abilities and thier knowledge of nature and beasts, making them adept hunters of any kind of prey.

There are three different type of royality amongt the vampires those who had been turned by the Blood Queen, also known as purebloods, those who’d been been born to it, and half breeds, which the latter where allways looked down upon and was often killed of by other vampyres as they were the weakest.

Personally, I hope we don’t see anymore Undead Classes in the game.

The Theme has run its course over the story of WoW and although I am sure we will return to Undead at some point. I am certainly pleased the game is taking a turn to brighter (or maybe Voidier) Pastures.

P.S. I have the same feeling for Demons and Fel. Lets do something refreshing.

I’ve been wanting his since forever. It does kind of irk me a bit that the Venthyr didn’t simply extend on the already existing San’layn lore, but either of them would be fine with me.

Revendreth was the one zone in the entire expansion that wasn’t complete garbage.

A vampire class would work . I would play one :vampire:

Good job, you clearly put alot of thought into that! Also it makes more sense then the Drakthyr who feel shoehorned in just to fit the theme of the latest expansion.
I like the idea…also would love another proper hybrid class in the game.

Sounds a lot like Venthyr Demon Hunter TBH, but in general very good idea

I think it will not really happen because Blizz incorporated this into Death Knight. I mean there whas once a thought of us getting a necromancer but for balance we only got death knight. I think the closest we will ever see instead would be the San’layn as an Allied Race for Horde.

Can always un-incorprate it from Death knights.

Cough Warlock metamorph cough Demon Hunter cough

Eh that whas only one ability from the Warlock while the rest of the spec stayed as mass summoning demons. Additionally the Demon Hunter has been already known before for using Metamorphosis and Blizz just give this to Warlock to reuse already done work for demon hunter that now did not fit the theme of the Story so it got put in the storage for later release. Meanwhile the Death Knight already incorporate three themes because Blizz did not knew how to make three clases out of them.

Can always work around. We got 2 holy light users = paladin, hpriests.
We got 2 fel users = warlocks,DH
So why not have 2 blood…suckers? = bDK and Vamp.

I was a big fan of the whole witchwood theme, I’d really like to see a voodoo sort like class honestly.

We have already. BDK and Affliction Warlock.
May I remind you of Drain Life and Siphon Life?

If a random guy on the forums could design (at least the rough outlines of) a class you would think a multi million dollar company with paid professionals would be able to, but maybe that’s just me.

They don’t. Just look how weak WoW turned into.

But Vampyre as Class yes! Need more everything.

That barely fits. Affliction has more of a curse&suffering theme…and it has 1 spell which doesn’t even say it drains blood…just life. While bDK whole theme is blood and sustaining yourself from blood of the enemy. Same with holy boys = the light’s warriors(pallies) or the prophets(priests)

You make a good point, Mr. Burger, not gonna argue with that.

Curse, Suffering and harvest life. Though you are right. The true vampire casters are not Affliction Warlocks but Shadow Priests. Because they have Vampiric Embrace Spell and a talent called San’layn.

Shadow priests doesint use any blood spell, or draining of that sort. Dunno why those spells are called that, i think its mainly because they are wicked.

Shadow priests are wicked zealots that uses shadow and void, and often resort to serve the old gods.

and if blizzard would look at this and approve your idea, we would then find out they just decided to make the class avaiable to 1 race:
Venthyr. ._.

Tbh.

They say this to necromancer, yet necromancer and death knight can and have existed in the same games many many times.

Its only the unholy version of priest and paladin simultaniously existing realisticslly.

1s a caster of light.
2nds a fighter of Light.

Theres both san’layn and blood mages who both use blood magic and have existed in the same expansions as death knight.

I dont think they can try pull that cope out really, blizzards never said no, its just players who tend to argue its “too the same” while they could both be very different in actual setting.

The problem was, shadowlands the perfect expansion for a undead class, was rushed and half cut so it never became a thing. Now we are on a draconic expansions evoker makes more sense, given whats expected to be found in dragon isles… dragons
