I’d accept any kind of TBC or Wrath server but my preference would be to simply keep it as it was without too many changes. Not a big fan of scaling content.
If I had my way I’d have the option of a few Era servers, static and kept as they are, along with two separate TBC servers, one PvE one PvP and two separate Wrath servers, one PvE one PvP.
The big question is whether or not to start fresh so that everyone begins at L1, or follow previous history and allow players to transfer or clone their existing Classic chars. I can see pros and cons for both options.
Shut down that travesti of a game, population will decline anyway. Its not worth to waste time even of small dev team, just start working on some real classic+
there is no doubt about that. I prefer TBC over wrath for other reason, but the class gameplay improved from TBC to wrath, and to some extent, i’d argue for some class the gameplay improved further in cataclysm.
Depends. TBC/WOTLK had different stats, im not against zones scaled to 60y and additional side raids (please nothing stronger than naxx gear, its already to broken), + faction per zone to grind etc. But only zone stuff in other words just more adventure, no arena, no resilience, no flying mounts, no lfg tool, no achievements, no- in many kind of things that are not classic, and from there anythin can possibly be discussed.
I am. I hate level scaling. Absolutely despise it with the power of a thousand suns in fact.
The problem with level scaling is that it creates a completely static experience. Mobs in Westfall take the same amount of effort to kill as mobs in Silithus - so you never get any sense that your character is growing stronger, there’s no sense of progression.
Gear upgrades are meaningless as you’ll never feel stronger once you equip it. Levelling up is meaningless as you’ll never feel stronger as you level. Part of the joy of levelling up is that the mob you were struggling with at L25 now feels manageable at L30. Level scaling takes all that away. You can never go back and try that quest again after levelling up a bit more, as the difficulty will be exactly the same.
No thanks. If they released a level-scaled TBC/WotLK I’d simply not play it.
