so can blizzard finally decide to take a new look at vanish? any skill/auto attack that get used 1sec before to 0,5 sec after u use vanish will just pull u out of vanish, and I don’t think this is how it worked in vanilla
vanish in classic give you .1sec immunity atm, but vanish had worse issue’s in vanilla anyway.
i advice you to simply move away from your target for 1sec before you use vanish to avoid getting out of stealth if it’s a mob on you or a player.
Gouge/stun/blind/sprint, move away from mob/player then vanish, it’s working exactly how it did in vanilla.
It’s mostly due to the spell batching to “replicate the 200ms”
So, you’ll have to move away earlier or what not.
I can open on mobs with cheap shot from stealth and they will still hit me before cheap shot is applied, in vanilla at least vanish made people lose target from u, and attacks that happened in the same batch/next batch as vanish didn’t break it. im just asking for the devs to look into this because its still obviously broken
Actually I love those mechanics, they make the game more realistic. E.g. pets have better smell sense, so they can track your stealth/vanish activity. Or when you vanish when person already started swinging you will get hit anyway, it would be like this in real world, same before you stun, there’re real life matches where people have knocked out each other
How many points in master of deception? If 0 then it’s normal you will get hit, they still see you lol.
Sorry to inform you, this is exactly how vanished worked until i guess Cata.
There was still the bug that it just broke on itself.
No idiot proof immunity. Deal with it.
Vanish is significantly better in classic than it used to be in retail vanilla
especially a gnome rouge with daggers parrying a tauren warrior swing with spinal reaper adds even more to realism
skills casted before u used vanish pulling u out of vanish is vanilla like, melee skills casted AFTER u vanish pulling u out of vanish doesn’t seem vanilla like. vanish doesn’t cause people to lose target properly from my testing
Ofc! Gnomes should have 99% evasion rate! They are so small it’s hard to hit them you know
another example is vanishing while being charged, vanish will just not work and the charge + melee will both go thru, even tho the warrior is supposed to lose target when u vanish. I recall in vanilla u would get stunned, but no dmg would be done to u when u did this, not how it works on classic
How much MS/Latency you have? I have no problems vanishing skills, except hunters, for some reason their skills always land but e.g. mages I can vanish just just before it reaches me and it won’t damage me. Melee? It depends how far they’re. I have 3 points in master of deception so most of the time I have no problems vanishing them either, unless i’m literally standing inside of them.
41ms latency, I have no problem with mages, I can vanish dodge their skills, only issues arise from melees. it kinda sucks that I don’t record when I pvp, cause ive seen it fail in the most ridiculous ways. for example, In av last night, I did a cold blood evisc on a rogue on the same batch as his vanish, so he got oneshotted 2 sec after he vanished, while being 10+ meters away
edit: if it was working properly, the attack would had failed the moment he vanished because I would had lost target, in vanilla vanish had priority over melee skills that happened on same batch, and so u could avoid them, here its not the case
If you use Vanish after the Charge was activated then it is only right that you get stunned and take damage. Although Charge has a long animation, it’s still an instant cast, so you can’t (or shouldn’t) be able to interrupt any aspect of it with a Vanish.
Vanish has always been weird before WOTLK/Cataclysm (Vanilla/TBC).
You take advantage of that, like you can vanish any spell to avoid it (vanish death coil).
The drawback is sometime, the vanish can be broken.
So what I can litteraly crit you with AA and you still open on me with cheap shot.
Fair.
ALT+Z if you have geforce. Instant replay = when you will press hotkey (ALT + F10) it will record last 5min of your game, you can change times and quality in settings.
I agree with yer on that one.
Different rogue specs have been super op during the last few expansions. With shadowstep, cloak of shadows, and vanish persisting even if the rogue is hit by aoe abilities, rogues were/are unkillable in world pvp.
Playing a rogue in classic is the opposite. Faerie fire, dots, or flying abilities during vanish ruin my day.
I spend 30 mins watching grim’s vanilla pvp vids, and I noticed 2 things. first of all, his vanish was never broken by any melee skills thru the video, and that the vanilla leeway for melee attacks is about half of what we have now. make ur own conclusions on what is bugged or not, but evidence does exist to support my case.
again, I really hope blizzard actually does some testing, but I highly doubt that the skeleton crew they got on wow classic will ever do anything of the sort. they only fix bugs that make classes op, not ones that make them worse
