View distance

is there a way to increase view distance?

No

10chars

Check the tool tip for ‘environment detail’ in the Graphics tab, increasing the slider increases view distance for objects and some other things, I found it helpful.

well i have that already increase to max 10/10

I wish you could. Not being able to see Teldrassil from Auberdine is ridiculous.

It is our snob fog.

they set the view distance to be the same as back in the days. we wanted a #nochange. So no, there is no way to increase it.

are you bfa gamer

The view distance is part of what makes the world feel much more massive than it does on retail.

I mean… Sylvanas tried to light it up but…

No, the running and slower flight paths do that. I honestly don’t care much about the view distance myself but I can imagine why people would want it to be bigger.

No, it is all of the above combined. View distance is part of that because much of the feeling of size is an illusion. The world is really not that big at all if you can see it all at once. Just go run around on the old continents in BfA. They look different but the size is the same, yet they feel much smaller even using the same movement speed.

I kinda agree.
Too much will make zones seem smaller than it should be according to lore.

But not being able to see Teldrassil from a relatively close distance doesn’t make sense at all. You should be able to see big and tall landmarks from a bigger distance than smaller landmarks.

you can by writing the value into memory and practically doing what the protected function would do but thats illegal. dont know if ull get banned for it if you open a process handle to wow and change write a memory value into data section coulda aswell do it from ring0

Do you have to be obnoxious about it?

Yet they changed the water, the ground clutter, the shadows, the sunshafts and the grass physics.

Ok.

you are right friend

i think view distance is low cause we need more powerful machine

It’s not just about how powerful your machine needs to be, a bigger draw distance means the server will need to report all the new objects to your client.

This could have a negative impact on everyone’s latency. The lag is bad enough as it is, lets not make it any worse now.

shouldnt be a problem if there is layering or lowpop at night
