Since we already have ridiculous meme race/class combos such as paladin/rogue tauren can we finally have void elf paladins? Since they are just glorified blood elves it doesnt take anything special.
Considering Turalyon literally canât touch Alleria due to the void that is opposite to the Light⊠thisâd be the few things thatâll probably not happen.
While lorewise it would be difficult to make it work.
Since we are talking about Blizzard and they could make even technophilic gnomes become ânature loving, in line with balanceâ druids if they wanted to so not really impossible.
Blizzard writers - Hold my Beer.
Just because weâve already made mistakes, doesnât mean we should be making more. Paladins channel the Light, which is anathema to the Void, which Void Elves are saturated in.
Of course, if Blizzard wised up and actually âdiversifiedâ certain class specifics based on race, this wouldnât be an issue. Push a little lore-motivation into things. Like how we have Dinomancers and Prelates instead of Zandalari âDruidsâ and âPaladinsâ as well.
A Void Elf âPaladinâ could simply be Void equivalent to the same class. Give them purple animations instead of golden as default. Maybe add a special glyph they can use to get the golden animations back, but make sure that it clearly states that (thematically) thisâll be painful for the Elf.
Also add racial differentiating animations to Zandalari Trolls, Tauren and Dark Iron Dwarves - at the same level as totems. Same thing with Priests.
Also also, give Void Elf, Light-forged Draenei and Forsaken a flavour passive explaining away them being Death Knights too.
Boom. Job done.
Considering we have wild combos like night elf warlocks, orc priests so u could easily shoehorn some lore to justify void elf paladins existing or go with what Grumble suggested.
Also, we have Void Elf priests.
The only difference between those two classes is that one reads book whereas the other goes to the gym
And it is stated in the tides of darkness book that paladins were just warriors who trained in priestly ways or vice versa.
Well we have holy void elf priest and undead holy priests going all the way back to classic.
Lorewise, itâs already done. A Void Elf Paladin (i.e. the class, not getting bogged down in the Paladin vs Sunwalker etc semantics) already exists in Telogrus Rift, casting Consecration. The NPCs in there refer to still being able to find light in the darkness, or something to that effect.
I suspect we may see it as a playable class in Midnight.
Edit: Iâm waiting for the usual Priest to dive into this thread and start shouting about how itâs not a thing, like the old man yelling at cloudâŠ
Veteran of the fourth, rather than the third war. Thatâs what happened to void elves and lightforged.(and all the allied races&pandas)
Also hi, Iâm a holy priest that happens to be a void elf. Priests happen to be one of the main void elf classes as well based on class representation. One of the main npcs in the Priest class hall during the expansion that seemingly just about everyone adores is an undead that deals with the pain of the light. Also demon hunters are literally always in pain over a demon soul They can do it. itâs just a matter of wanting to put it in game like Aeonara, the void elf paladin that already exists. And the night elf paladin that already exists, we can go on.
And if you read the rest of my comment, youâd probably find a solution to those issues as well.
i didnt bother reading it all to be fair because at the end of the day the game is old and its just a game just add all races/classes
Hello, again, if you read the full comment then youâd probably see that there is a solution for all your problems there.
There are already issues with the new Death Knight recruitment being so heavily glossed over, however âVeteran of the Fourth Warâ does not explain how Scourge magic mixes fine with Void or Light magic saturation. A flavour passive would.
Void Elf Priests should hurt when they use Holy magic. It doesnât need to be actual health damage, but a flavour passive saying how they grit their teeth and bare the sting for their faith is all that is needed. Just little things that donât need to be so niche.
Night Elf âPaladinsâ just need to be like Zandalari Prelates. Make the default animations silver if you want, if not just putting a moon symbol on Consecration and change up Wings a bit. The one (1) Night Elf Paladin that already exists is already meant to be an outlier - sheâs different because of her upbringing and life outside of her cultural norm.
Itâs only a few sentences, man. Youâre worrying me now. All Iâm saying is that a bit of flavour text and some animation changes could do wonders for this whole situation.
If that all it takes to worry you then sorry
And right on cue, Gabriela appears!
spare your masterball, I m not catchable!
The âeasiestâ solution would be to simply build on stuff like the Twilight Cult having paladins that still wielded the Light despite serving the Old Gods. They even came with a cool purple variant of the judgement set, if Iâm recalling correctly - and if they ever added Void Elf paladins, Iâd likely use that for mine.
In addition, there is a very clear scene during the campaign where Alleria touches Turalyon on the chest before running off to find Xalâatath. Also cuddles him in the christmas comic I believe? I think the issue arises when she is in her full void form.
If Discipline priests exist, I donât see why Void Elf Paladins canât exist. Essentially I would see myself as a Discipline Paladin.
In the end though, I just want to play what I want.
Speaking of Race/Class, why Gnomes canât be paladins yet?
Gnomes can be warriors and gnomes can be priests.
If the whole point is that gnomes have 4 fingers on their palms and 5 on their feet, then this is simply just so short of excuse!
Equality to Gnomanity!
As a get around give them void paladin spells (recolour them purple and rename, so void shock rather than holy etc). Belf palas were basically parasites in tbc using a captive naru, the naru can fall to the void so I canât see a contradiction in void elves being able to be palas.
