Void Elf vs. Night Elf rogues

I mean, I’m not old enough player to see beyond what seems obvious. The racials really seem to favor Night Elves, faster movement while stealthed and increased chance to dodge melee and ranged attacks in addition to critical strike boost during the day. All of Void Elf stats seems to favor casters, but is there something I’m missing or are night elves just superior rogues?

i havent played a nelf rogue ina long time but shadowmeld should be pretty good for rogues. You shadowmeld to go out of combat and then directly go into your normal stealth for another backstab or to get away

Night elf.

Void elves should be murdered for trying to impersonate a Horde race.

Strong words for a blood elf.

For racials? Night elves seem better.(unless you love transmog)
For appereance? Up to you. For me void elves win by a mile.

Only the truth. It had to be said.

You mean the Alliance race which was given to the Horde simply because their numbers were low at the time? K.

Explain?
As far as I know Void elfs are Blood elfs that got exiled out off Silvermoon because off their studies off the Void.
That is also why they can metamorphose the way they do.

They simply converted because they got kicked out :man_shrugging:

What they mean is that in classic alliance was superior in numbers to the horde so Blizzard added Blood elves to the horde to give the horde a “pretty” race. So now around 50% of the horde is blood elves. The end.

Just like 50% off the elfs in Alliance are now fake Blood elfs?
I understand.

Honestly, most off the horde races are uglier then my hairy behind though

Actually surprisingly void elves are not that popular. Humans, blood elves and night elves are the 3 most popular races in the game.

Really? That is very suprising indeed.
Littarly everywhere I go I see Void Elfs everywhere.

I don’t mind them, as long as they have their OG voidey look. (You look sick btw)
I despise blizzard for giving them the Blood Elf appearance option…

I think Void Elves are a case of “too little, too late”. Players who desperately wanted High Elves all those years either:

  • Moved to the Horde and made a Blood Elf, and now their friends are holding them there (plus Silvermoon).
  • Disappointed by the limited customisation options available to Void Elves (mitigated somewhat by their newer hair, skin and eye colours).
  • Already too attached with their Night Elf or Human characters, both of which have more customisation and more significant lore behind them.

Void Elves also can’t be some of the most iconic Alliance classes, like Paladin and Druid, which probably puts a lot of people off. Hunter and Mage are basically the only traditional High Elf classes they can play.

Blood elf is not classic horde, that’s why I think your choice of words is weird. Blood elves exist on the horde, so horde players have a human-looking race to play

Blood Elves to Horde was a gameplay decision, not a lore decision. If WOW didn’t exist Blood Elves would probably have never joined the Horde.

Back on topic, I would go Void Elf.

Spatial Rift is probably the most fun racial I ever had and you can pull off all kinds of neat tricks with it in ranged PvP.

For melee it’s not going to be the same because of the nature of how melee vs ranged combat works, with the ranged player being the lead dancer deciding in which direction the fight is going to go when kiting.

I’d still just play whichever race I wanted to, I mean, you are already playing Blood Elf and they pretty much deleted that racial from existence. Crap move btw, Blizzard.

There is finally a use!
The add interrupts at Raszageth
Or the little storm elementals in Nokhud!

Best. Racial. Ever!
I play it for the 1% crit passive though

So let me ask you a question. How did you deal with the High elf NPC’s on the alliance side who have always been a active from Classic to BFA?

Surely if they never bothered you, then neither will the playable race who have different hairstyles from you.

In terms of racial yes. But in terms of lore void elves can be anything. One of their leaders is a hunter and the other is a mage.

Void elf assassins sounds pretty cool as they are an already edgy race.

As for night elves they fit too.

Personally I would choose night elf, especially female. Don’t like the males to be honest, but they do have one of the most dramatic and fun deaths.

Well nelves got superior feet and body too. Void elves are just sticks.

So both racials and hotness.

I wish they could have toerings.

And also shadowmeld, is surprisngly useful for a rogue.

There are many factors, for that, some already mentioned here already:

  • No access to paladins, demon hunters and druids.
  • some are scared away from playing it due to the void tentacles (I think this one can be turned off now?)
  • Their racial is stronger in PvE than Blood Elf dispel, but based on observation many struggle to make good use of it.
  • They are still locked behind a rep grind. I think many are put off from the idea of going back to Legion and farm rep to unlock them, compared to just creating a Blood Elf from day one.

Still, despite that Void Elf is the most popular out of all of the allied races. If we get to the point that they gain access to paladins I feel there will be a mass migration.
